Daniel Hertz Maria 350 Important things to do... high level tuning!

The Nordost Sortkones have always been important to me, but with Maria 350 they are essential. 1x AC 1x BC 1xTC in the configuration shown take Maria to a level higher, pure emotions. But the OCXO upgrade for the Denafrisp Arce Streamer is a must, it was this that showed me that Maria is an exceptional amplifier and DAC. You've heard it before, but it lacked the final speed, lightness of attack and authenticity. This is real emotional music! Everything is here now! Cheers Mike
Die Nordost Sortkones sind für mich schon immmer wichtig, aber bei Maria 350 sind sie unverzichtbar. 1x AC 1x BC 1xTC in der gezeigten Konfiguration bringen Maria auf ein Level höher, Emotionen pur. Aber das OCXO Upgrade für den Denafrisp Arce Streamer ist ein muss, erst dies hat mir gezeigt, dass Maria ein aussergewöhlicher Verstärker und DAC ist. Thanks for your tips Mike, always appreciated!🎉 I had the Maria for a while now and in my opinion what stands out the most, even after almost a year, is that it's musicality, realism and engagement come out even with a less quality source like a simple mac mini or Bluetooth from my phone. Sometimes I'm looking at my pricy digital sources and wonder if I should sell them!

After long tests for decoupling, the best solution I found is the one you presented, i.e. placing the cones exactly under the screws. This is how I got the best sound!! Congrats! 👍

Mike - I agree with you - I'm using an Ideon Absolute Time USB reclocker with my Innuos Pulsar and the difference w/ the Maria is astounding! I am using the Center Stage footers under it which also makes a nice difference.

With this new setup, have you also tried to look at speaker placement again? A new amp defines new nuances in the music that could require new placement because other frequencies are maybe more pronounced or due to room resonance, gets cancelled out? It's just that, I know Mark designed this with the idea that it should work easy and then sound incredible. The way you approached it now doesn't sound easy at all. (I've also listened to a few Maria amps and I can confirm how awesome they are ;)!)

Sounds like the arce streamer doesn’t have a great clock… maybe to sell their external clocks?

no, Arce is for Roon and owner of Denafrips Terminator or T+, they have Clock out. If you dont have a T/T+ buy the Arkas, for the price awsome cheers Mike

Thanks for your video. What about the Grimm MU1 as the source for the Maria 350? Unfortunately the Maria has no AES/EBU in, but spdif will do as well I presume?

Spdif is ok for Maria, USB better. MU1 is for me a soundkiller, we had that at munich highend fair, plug it out and the sound of the analog turntable rig increased a lot... uuuh black sheep Mikey im now too...

Mike wie ist der vergleich von dem Denafrips terminator plus dac zu dem dac was im Maria verbaut ist? Kann der soulnote a 2 den Setup von jetzt nicht an? Da der A2 doch sehr sehr musikalisch spielt? Wie würdest du den unterschied beschreiben? Grüße

Maria 350 ist ein Konzept, dass insgesamt eine Gamechanger ist. Termi+ ist klasse, aber sieht dir doch an, was alles aus der Anlage geflogen ist. Maria ist so live und echt und schnell und kontrolliert und offen und emotional und MUSIK! Cheers Mike

Soulnote A2 is a wonderful device, but specially in bass he has not the control and power of Maria. The speed of Maria is also min. a class higher, but most important is the real music effect of Maria, thinking the musicians are in my room.. cheers Mike

@@headquarteraudio5388 what does a quality clock in a streamer do for the music? Does the power supply or clock allow for the background to be darker background (very quiet noise floor) . The difference of Aurender compared to to my Eversolo a6 me with upgrade lps is night and day with inky black background for the music to emerge from.

Hey, please watch for correct prices. Maria is not an Amp, its an DAC with Cwave technology also. Maria has nice feet, but why should DH use feet for about 800€ if some will not need it. These are for freaks like me, that want the last 10 percent and i use them everywhere.. Cheers Mike

@@headquarteraudio5388 I understand you are not very familiar with the Daniel Hertz products, here is what Lewinson says himself: Maria: Daniel Hertz makes only one amplifier - Maria - the very best that Mark Levinson can design. Maria 350 is the stereo (2 channel) model, and Maria 800 is the 4 channel model with active crossovers and time alignment enables for driving bi-amplified speakers. Since the product is aimed at "no more can get extracted" "absolute top" , why on earth are you suggesting some people would dish out 40k for an amp and want less the top of the line feet, this is really a curious argument you are making!

Nothing against your setup but the room is really to small for this speakers. You can´t even get a soundstage with this distance between the speakers and all the wooden walls do the rest.

In that type of room you have to accept some compromise. That said, likely the terrific Pylon Audio Jade 20's would have faired better in that space.
