I hated the pick as much of the next guy once it happened but Danny Dimes made a believer out of me. Now he’s my quarterback. The future is bright.

I have been going to Duke football games since 1976 and I saw every game the kid ever played either in person or on TV, and I knew he was going to have a great career in the NFL and I knew he was worthy of a high first round draft pick. Glad he proved all of the loud mouth prognosticators and arm chair qbs wrong. He will do it again next year as well. Danny Dimes is Duke's next Sonny Jurgenson. Count on it.

Why is everybody losing their shit when the Giants drafted a guy from Duke at 6th overall when the Eagles literally drafted an FCS school QB (no disrespect to Wentz and NDSU) at 2nd overall?
@pidayrocks22355 жыл бұрын
I think it's mostly because Jones was a projected 2nd round pick and so Giants fans felt they could have "stolen" him in the 2nd round considering not that many teams were looking for QBs and the Redskins were already said to be "in" on Haskins. The other, less prominent, reason is that Gettleman stated many times his intentions were to pick the best player available in the draft irrespective of position. He sold the fans on the idea that having the most talented players is how you build a winning team and used that as justification for picking Barkley #2 overall the year before even though a lot of people felt a QB was more urgent. Now, obviously most Giants fans are thrilled with Barkley and were at the time as well. That message though of picking the best player definitely didn't hold true in the Jones draft because he is not the 6th overall best player in that draft. My guess is that if Gettleman had said that he was going to focus on drafting for need, many fewer fans would have had a problem with the pick because they wouldn't have felt lied to.

Just saying every team in the NFL thinks he sucks but the giants.

Huge giants and Daniel jones fan...always has been. He was great last year! As long as he can improve on pocket awareness and not fumble football this kid is gonna prove everyone wrong. I think he will and this process of getting rid of all star players for picks and $$$, drafting Saquon at the second pick, Jones at the sixth pick, and judge as HC, is all part of Gettelmans evil plan. A lot of people hate on Gettleman for no reason I think he’s slowly and steadily doing a great job

Turnovers dont matter in your rookie year . When was the last time a QB won a superbowl in there rookie year ? You expect your QB to have turnover problems in there first year . Especially on a terrible team with all your weapons gone .you also have to learn how to read a NFL defense & learn a new playbook and adjust to the speed of the NFL .

Colin Cowherd - Understand one thing: Dave Gettleman is good at drafting players. That's why he gets paid as the Giants GM and you are lucky to have a job where you get paid to shoot your big mouth off not knowing what your talking about. Get your facts straight. No matter what the players stat numbers are in the college ranks - You never know what they'll be at the NFL level.

Hoping he’ll be Eli Manning but with 2 times the amount of super bowls
