You watch this and then watch his onboard in a Mclaren and you can see the big difference is he isn't able to carry the speed into the corner like he did in the RB. With the front end confidence he didn't need to brake late and carry speed, he could brake less aggressive and carry a lot of speed and manage it without compromising his exit speeds. However in the Mclaren, it has a weak front end, strong back end. In order to drive fast he needs to drive complete opposite to what makes him one of the fastest. It's exactly what happened to Kimi as team-mate to Alonso at Ferrari. Alonso smashed him that season by big margins just like Lando is doing to Daniel now. It's because that Ferrari was made with a strong rear end (Alonso preference). Kimi prefers a car with a strong front end, same as Daniel.

Semtex The only fair comparison is with your team mate and the same car. Ricciardo beat Vettel 3-0 in 2014 at Red Bull. Ricciardo beat Max Verstappen in 2016-2017 and so far in 2018 too. Daniel Hamdi I honestly never thought we'd see a 1:10 at Monaco. Up until last year the benchmark was always 1:13.5/6 so to go nearly 3 seconds quicker on a tiny track is insane. Mainly due to the hypersofts but still I was shocked last year when they finally dipped into the 12's.

Sam Dianto Oversteering through here allows for a more acute angle of attack, and resultant the car rotates around the bend faster, assuming one doesn't Bork it up, which is possible if a driver is not in total control or attempts a hasty or jerky recovery. This is throttle dependent traction modulation, totally controlled & desired. This is the perfect way to get on the power as fast as possible through this turn based on Its angle into and out of being perfect for a little flick around. Go brush up on under and oversteer as tools by which one controls the radius arc of their machine; knowing when to use them, and knowing how to maintain trajectory with smooth wheel control, into the slide, are basically fundamental skills in serious race driving where power and handling permit, single seaters being exemplary. (Daniel doesn't bork anything though.)
