I just read that he died. That makes me very sad. What a brilliant writer and composer.

He wasnt that old in 2008... I always struggle to see him past late 90s... meds really messed with his weight and health got worse to the point he looked way older than his actual age... it's hard to recognize him, even though between those lines, I can still hear the 80s Daniel Johnston's weakened voice, when he sings "Joy without pleasure" (in particular for me) It makes me sad how things turned out, but I think he left a very unique story and songs behind that transmit me very distinctive feelings that no other artist can... I'm both glad and sorry his life went the path it did, I'm kind of conflicted lol
