Imho the X-Live card is the most usefull add-on for the X32 - I use it all the time! In Mixing Station layout, I use one button to record (click) and stop (longpress) - saves space. Remember to not have more than 100 sessions on your SD card, or you‘re not going to be able to record any more.. I‘ve recently made a video about that problem.

Hello Daniel, i hope you are doing well. First of all congratulations for your precious channel and for helping thousands of people with your tutorials. I have recently bought a full X32 but i am really struggling, despite watching hours of tutorials, to understand how i could achieve the setup i want, because 90% of the online content is dedicated to live use or church use. In my case, i have a home studio and i will use the X32 only in a composing and recording studio configuration, with no public and the only artist in the studio would be me, or maybe rarely another singer or instrument player. For the moment, i own a standard X32 and an X-Live card intended for recording on sd cards. I have a very old computer that i must keep because i still use windows XP and i have a lot of old songs in it made on Logic before they moved to only Mac... In my computer i have an audio interface which is a RME Raydat, allowing for 32 ins and 32 outs, in Adat optical format. I also have a nice adda converter for Adat to analog which is a Ferrofish Pulse. The fact is that i have a lot of nice outboard gear, that i have grouped in 8 stereo analog busses, 4 mono analog busses, and also 5 FX analog busses, and lastly one analog stereo masterbus. These that i call analog busses are groups of hardware machines i have linked through many Samson patches in order to process my signals. For example, the one i call analog stereo masterbus is a set of 5 machines (linked in serial) that i intend to insert on the main masterbus of my mixes (a Looptrotter Sa2Rate followed by a Warm Audio Buscomp followed by an Avalon 747 followed by a DBX Quantum 2). All of my 8 analog busses are different sets of 3 or 4 machines linked in serial, generally a specific saturation machine followed by a specific compressor followed by a given Equalizer. For example one of these busses is made of a Drawmer 1973 (multiband compressor) followed by a Drawmer 1976 (multiband saturation) followed by a Drawmer 1974 (4 band vintage sound EQ). The fact that all these machines are used in 4 Samson patches allows me to easily change the composition of any chain, by adding another machine in any chain or removing one or even swapping the order, and, as you know, this is done through short patch câbles. Nothing new here lol The 5 FX analog busses are made of dedicated Reverb machines, or multifx machines, like for example the Lexicon MX400XL, the Behringer VVerb (which is really awesome for the price by the way!!) Or the TC Helicon Voiceworks. All these 5 busses are stereo machines which can be plugged with either analog or digital connectors. So, if possible, i would really like to avoid using the USB streaming interface from the X-Live for outputing my channels from the computer and i would rather use the Adat out if my RME Raydat card. My plan is to play my different tracks in my daw, to output them through Adat and converter to the X32, let's say for example 16 tracks. Then i would like to route these tracks to subgroup busses in the X32 (let's say 6 stereo subgroups, and 4 mono subgroups). Then i would like to insert in these subgroups any of my 8 available analog hardware busses, and then send the busses to the master of the X32, on which i would like to insert my analog stereo masterbus chain. I also would like to configure 5 FX chains in the X32 by inserting my 5 analog stereo FX busses so that i might send to them from the bus subgroups or from the channels... And the goal is to record the final masterbus on the X-Live sd card, and also record each subgroup along on the X-Live sd card. So it is typically a hybrid recording and mixing studio configuration. I don't need broadcast or front on house or behind the house or above the house lol, i don't need iem, or pa monitors or any of all those things dedicated to live usage or church usage or touring etc... For my purpose, of course i have 3 pairs of different nearfield monitors, but it is only for checking my mixing and for that i use a Presonus Monitor Station v2, which is connected to the Monitor output of the X32. And my monitors are all on the Presonus outputs (A, B and C). At last, my question is, in order to achieve such a configuration, do i need to add to my X32 a S16, or a S32, or another X32 (rack version because i would not have the place nor budget for another full X32). You might wonder why i need to use all this outboard gear. Well i had a big accident 11 years ago which left me tetraplegic, so for me it is easier (and also more fun lol) to manipulate big buttons on those machines rather than using a mouse and plugins etc). Plus my computer is very old and as weak as me but i love to keep it for what it does. Plus i really prefer the sound of outboard gear and that is a question of personal taste i guess... Daniel i am really sorry for the lenght of my message but i really do need your help as for now i am stucked in the middle of nowhere and my goal is to be able to mix my own beats in order to maybe sell them in a beatstore. The fact is i can't really get a job now that i have more than 80% of disability and as you know times are getting harder and my disability pension becomes less and less sufficient to pay for everything. So if you can help me to get my setup running i would really appreciate. I am really afraid to buy the wrong gear and then discover that it can't help to get my setup working as intended... I could use some help with how to get audio from the SD card to the DP 48's. I'm using a Midas M32. I have audio coming out FOH and monitors. Just can't seem to get it routed correctly to the 48's. Suggestions? Thanks!

Go to the AES50 A or B page (whichever one you connected your dp48 to) and assign 1-32 them to card 1-32

Hi, Do you have any idea if it is possible to play recordings from the SD card and simultaneously use plug ins in real time via USB?

I haven't tried it but i think it should be possible because the usb card outputs are independent from the sd card

What kind of format should I use to format the pendrive. I tried FAT 32 but the console isn't detecting the pendrive

It's fat 32. The console doesn't detect exFat or NTFS
