It would be lovely if Resolve ported the Proxy generator app to the iPad

What does the app do?

@@DanielKovacs It generates proxies lol, but in a standalone app, I like using it better than inside resolve. Settings are really straight forward and easy, you can create proxies for multiple projects at the same time, as you can just point to multiple folders. The proxies are generated inside the original folder and are automatically recognized by resolve. Another cool thing is if you work with multiple computers in your network, you can set one computer to generate the proxies while your main machine is free to work, and they auto populate as they are completed.

hi~~ can I ask a question Now on my DR for ipad my working project. I cannot switch multicam angel. both mouse(or touch) I cannot go down further enough to the multcam section in the right click menu. and even using keyboard shortcuts are not working

The key point of creating proxy files is to set timeline resolution below 4K. Then your proxy files will be below 4K. If your timeline is still 4K, your proxy files will be also 4K, which is laggy again and pointless. ( you can examine your proxy files resolution in default folder: DaVinci Resolve/ProxyMedia/)

Not exactly, creating proxies in Davinci, doesn’t create lower resolution files, but actually a ProRes file. You can change the settings to create Lower resolution files though, then you would get double the speed ig.

But in my ProxyMedia folder, they are all lower resolution .mov files?

@@ericfys3275 maybe you set it light that in settings! For me, they generate ProRes files, each which take up like 1gb for a few seconds. ProRes files are much faster and better than low res files, since you a see them in full quality. But the benefit to low res not pro res is that it doesn’t eat up storage.

@@DanielKovacs cheers for the reply. Basically when I right click on a video file in the edit tab it says "generate proxies" and when clicked it just generates them straight to the iPad HD. Would be amazing to generate the proxies to a external SSD

Do you think you can make a fix on the black screen for compound clips on the iPad app? Every time I’ve made something on the fusion tab (especially sound spectrums), once the app reloaded, it would not show/render in the timeline. I’ve tried everything I know, but nothing has worked and it would really be nice if you made a tutorial on how to fix this problem (if you even know how to) please consider.
