I can't tell you how much this video has helped my chipping...I've been at the game for 17 years and, for the longest time, I've been using a putting stroke for my chip shots...I probably picked that idea up from another instructor...It just doesn't work for me... My chips have been very inconsistent...The past few rounds I've used your simple idea of the right hand flexing and unflexing with astounding results!!!!! Thank you Danny...Your style of instruction is so simple yet effective...

To anyone reading, i tried this method and hated it at first. I was driving the club forward with to much forward shackling. But i got baked, relaxed my wrists and swung the club like a pendulum, and let the bounce of the club ride the grass straight and omg chipping and pitching is so easy now. This method is genius, its effortless once u realize how to do it properly. Cleveland smart sole sand wedge pairs amazing with this technique. Thanks danny, ill never doubt again

Best video on chipping and pitching on youtube!! Some of these techniques are well suited for lower handicap golfer because you have to continue the rotation of the body after the impact which many beginners do not do. This is the reason many videos on the internet advise viewers to have a forward shaft lean during the impact to prevent hitting it thin for beginner golfers, which works great but you loose the control of the shots.

Dan. This is the absolute best chipping technique I’ve ever seen to avoid chipping ‘yips’-thanks for not using this word in your video by the way ! I’ve been fighting chipping yips for far too long and have gotten to the point of chipping; although still poorly, left handed to avoid them- can you imagine ?! I think the problem is everyone else tries to push the one piece back and thru technique for chipping and it’s virtually impossible to do that with the yips as your left wrist simply must break down and literally can’t get thru the ball. Your hinge on way back and unhinge to square at impact allows that left wrist to function and not yip. I watched your video last night and rushed out for 9 holes this morning and I was amazed at the absolute immediate results. I can chip again ! Only someone with the yips can appreciate what a relief that is. I’m only about a one week disciple of your Utube videos, but I will be sorting thru your past ones as I’m a true believer. Thanks so much and keep up the great instructional work.

I recently started taking lessons from a local course pro and everything you said not to do, he had me doing. Weight forward and cocking the club head of the club forward before striking the ball. He also had me put the ball in the middle of my stance. After watching your video, I went to my yard and used the information from you video to chip and pitch. I haven't taken it to the course yet, but I already notice a MAJOR difference in ball flight and the feel of the ball striking my club head. Amazing tips that I will keep practicing. Thank you so much for your videos. Jerrid RN (Oklahoma, USA)

Danny, Big fan, love your videos for several years now. You use your ball launch numbers a lot to show what we should expect as far as launch angle, distance behind the ball, spin rate, club head speed etc. on many different clubs on many different videos. Many of us have access to ball launch moniters and use them to help improve our swing. Would you consider doing a video where you would show what the proper range of those numbers should be with each different group of clubs. Driver is different from fairway woods which is different from long irons which is different from short irons. If I had this info on one video, and better yet on a downloadable pdf, it would help immensely. I could take that with me, have immediate feed back, no matter what club I was using, at my finger tips. It's hard to try and remember that, especially for a 72 year old. Thanks so much, Eric

Thanks. I’m so on and off with this, this really made sense to me. This part of my game is my worst. Some good, some bad. Can’t wait to teetime in the morning

Thanks Danny, a decade off from golfing and I am shocked with how much I have forgotten. This was clear and easy to understand. Thank you.

Great tips! I've become pretty good at my short game, but I've been doing it backward from your recommendations. More lofted club farther away from the hole for a pitch and a less lofted club closer to the pin for a running shot. Will try it tomorrow! Thanks!

These tips (and your other videos) have helped me lower my scores significantly over the past couple of weeks as I undoubtedly wasted so many shots around the green previously. I love your coaching style Danny, you explain things very well and although I’ve not been one for practicing, I actually now find the time to do so and it’s starting to make a difference. I can’t thank you enough, keep up your fantastic work.

Outstanding video Danny! For people who want to improve their handicap down from 18..this is part of the game that is definitely where we lower our handicaps. This was an excellent video! Thank you for making it descriptive and easy to follow.
