I heard this album on the jazz channel on the old Virgin Trains that ran up and down the UK. The backdrop was the sun setting over the English countryside. I'll never forget the journey.

Oh My! This is Beyond Gorgeous! I only know his work by way of Wayne Shorter, but... if he was with Wayne, well then...he has to be Great! I am hearing a bit of the late, Lyle Mays here - and for this...I am deeply grateful! The arrangements by Claus Ogerman, are Sumptious...and just - PERFECTION!

Perez remains the pianist with Wayne Shorter. Clearly here he is blazing his own trail..this is mesmerizing and breathtaking...My Goodness...!

I knew this beautiful song on French radio by chance. As the others say, I can’t find it anywhere, especially in Spotify! I hope this will be loved by more people💕

This was included in a demonstration disc for the 2000 BMW 5-Series CD Audio system whe I dad bought a used 5 in 2004. Always remember this song as I would sit in the car and listen to it.

He reminds me of the late pianist Layle Mays of the Pat Methany Group - has that same beautiful etheral feel to it - I love it :)
@Jimmy-hx8mq6 ай бұрын
Cynthia i think that the feelings that both of them cause, belong to the same category, but in a different subcategory. I believe the sound of Lyle's piano brings a slightly more delicate feeling, etheral as you noticed. I would describe Danilo Perez's piano playing as more romantic and passionate, more earthy.

For anyone who's interested: The original composition this one is based on was written by the German composer Hugo Distler. Quiet nice, on a poem by Moericke. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2ercpKsdsaFoas

Why can I not find this album anywhere for a reasonable price? What the heck? It’s not that old. I first heard it on Apple Music, but they took it away. Now I can’t find it anywhere.

Yes, I have Spotify Premium but clearly there is still a lot of good music missing from this platform. I have been listening to this and I find the music is more accessible than the current Wayne Shorter’s group.

Look for it on DISCOGS,a good place for used cds as well as vinyl. That's were I found mine recently.

Instead of hiring really knowledgeable experts in all music genres, the platforms retailing music hire other young people they can "relate to" and play video games with who know absolutely zip zero about music before 2015. The lyrics you find on the internet are also laughable. No one bothers to make them accurate. A bot just transcribes something approximate.
