Let me show you how I practice the different forms and tenses of the verbs of position "sit, lie, stand" together with my students:
sidde / sætte
ligge / lægge
stå / stille
Preferably, you should already have watched my video where I explain when to use which verb in Danish. Here's the link:
• Sit, Stand and Lie in ...
The software I use in this video is called Openboard and can be downloaded here:
openboard.ch/index.en.html
Are you gonna practice as well?

Great idea to practice this way, I need to start doing this!! A lot of these types of sentences are in my Danish 8000 sentence Anki deck. Tak Mic!!

Thanks for your comment. It's definitely good to add a visual and dynamic aspect to your Anki practice. So whenever you can, it might be a good idea to practice like I showed in the video or in a similar manner. 👍

Great video as alway. Love the content. Any chance of doing a video about correct pronunciation of Danish diphthongs? I feel like I'm always tripping over the danish 'v'. Cheers

Thank you, Matthew. Interesting topic for a video. I'll put it on my list :) But quickly, some ideas about the V. I suppose you mean the V in words like "laver", "leve", "tyve". Correct? This sound is normally produced by making a round mouth. More or less like that of a fish. What is the exact difficulty you have?

@@MicsLanguages yes, word like laver. I have been pronouncing it with a silent v until I was corrected by the svigemor. My problem is with the sound combinations of the 'v' plus the vowels, and whether it's the vowel in front or behind that dictates the diphthong noise. Often times the v is pronounced hard and not like a diphthong... I live nearby Skive and that is often pronounced 'ski-ew' and 'ski-ve'.

@@matthewgilshnan1903 Okay thanks for the details. One thing is also that there is a bit of a difference between jysk and "rigsdansk", which I speak. In the case of Skive, in Jylland it would be more frequently pronounced with a hard V, like in the word "ven" (friend), than it would be pronounced like that in for example CPH. I myself would probably always say it with a diphtong. A long "I" and then the "V" with rounded lips. The V is pretty much the same as the vowel U as in Uganda. Both forms are correct for the word Skive, and also for "lave" etc. But the variant with a diphtong would be a lot more common nowadays. I don't know if this helps you with your challenge, but in case it's new information for you, I hope it is useful 🙂

Thanks for another great explanation! It would be nice to make a video on ‘med’ and how to use it in a sentence! Danes use this word all the time!

Thanks, that's an interesting idea. There are a lot of phrasal verbs with med. I'll put it on my list!
