As a classical pianist, having studied since age 4, (now nearly 86) my goals are clear and before me every day. My life has been rich in constant challenge and immensely satisfying. I been blessed constantly with wonderful teaching experiences, as well supportive wife and children, grandchildren,mand great grandchildren. I bless my parents who pointed me in the way to grow and live, and my God, whom I believe watches over me because of my simple trust!

False dichotomy. Sometimes people are doing work they actually want to do or discover they want to do and others genuinely appreciate it. Watch anyone who is successful in entertainment or sports or genuine leadership roles. People who alleviate suffering, improve someone else's life in some way. "life is beautiful, but everyone, everywhere is out to put you down." The whole thing is mixed signals.

thanks for the timestamps. saved me 30 minutes of precious time instead of watching yet another video that repeats the same stuff over and over again and essentially boils down to become a business man or influencer. yeah, these two options probably have a bright future compared to other jobs but this the absolute opposite of what seeing the big picture means, because not everyone in society can become social media relevant and not everyone in society can run a successful business. it just doesn't work like that. and trying to perpetuate the idea that you HAVE to get into business or grow an audience is ridiculous because if everyone actually did that, society would fucking collapse. we need people doing jobs in all kinds of industries, i.e. health care, construction, public safety, food production and so forth. if people that worked in those fields saw the video and suddenly quit their job to start yet another useless entrepreneurship or business coach program, we wouldn't even be able to live in such a priviledged world to begin with to have select few people to work in these abstract jobs. real jobs have to be filled to keep society running and him failing to adress that/dismiss these jobs completely immediately makes me not take the video seriously one bit. at the end of the day, he just wants to sell you an idea anyway because he makes money off youtube.

@@happysquirtle466 I've ultimately come to see for myself (after much consternation of formerly feeling as you do) about this issue around -- let's call it, 'Possibilities Recruitment', that, I believe there to be ...'the' hidden synthesis of insight between what ea. of you are ai saying. Meaning, we need ppl to both, do the litany of jobs you spoke of, absolutely. However, we must just as important... foster hg.-order intentionality in ppl as a whole; &, bring these two concepts together for individual empowerment. And, across the board access--w/equality\transparency, well structured in succinctly taught [individual fitting] sub/contract work interdynamics -- through applicable legal partnerships [for many, less leadership/command equipped]--while ever-refined in open ...practice) are among the best ways IMO, to tackle these issues. I just got laid off from my design job, and this is exactly how I felt for the past 5 or so years there after working almost 10. The people were great, and the hours were flexible, but the work was pretty subpar. I could feel myself stagnating. When I was making my show reel, I realized just how little spark there was from when I first started. I stopped experimenting, stopped looking at cool ways to do things, it was just rinse and repeat until ultimately the company couldn't pull in work any more. In a way, being cut is probably what needed to happen. I remember asking my former boss when I joined where the company was ultimately headed, and when he mentioned that there weren't plans to expand their scope (we were a kind of jack-of-all-trades desing company), I had a feeling it wasn't going to lead me down the path I wanted. Luckily, I took some initiative an started working on what I really wanted to do a couple years ago, which is more in line with animation and drawing, so hopefully I can land something that I can grow in.

I just want to add: Our brain NEEDS time with doing nothing (boredom if you want to call it that way) - but with that I mean REALLY doing nothing, at least nothing you need to think about. Just "boring" tasks (washing the dishes, doing some repetitive work). As exactly in these times where the brain is not distracted it starts to get creative! I have experienced this myself, that's why I know it is true. One year before going into art school I started doing a very repetitive job (as I needed the money and knew it was only for a year) and I tell you, my mind was never as creative again as in this time! This always repetitive work gave my mind the freedom to being creative - as nothing distracted it and the brain wants to be excited and have something to do always. So it became creative itself. I had some of my most vivid ideas than. for sure this was a time before social media, which made this even more impactful and even possible. Would this be nowadays I am not sure if it had that much impact on my sadly... So another thing for sure is: Get off social media as often as you can. Don't let it "distract" you - so your brain gets some time to breath and explore itself again.
@nadiallitv
@nadiallitv 4 күн бұрын
Totally agree with you! Storage capacity of our brains is limited, and escaping boredom with social media just bombs memory with useless information when all what is needed is a few minutes of rest. 6 minutes into the video and I can already say this is a stellar video! I want to share my own vision and what I do to further advance towards the completion of it to hopefully inspire others on their paths or even towards paths aligned with mine! I have two visions, my first is to shape society towards a more sustainable and less darwinistic system. My second vision is building a immortal vessel for humanity, I believe we are already scientifically and technologically advanced enough to get there at this point, I am young but everyday I broaden my understanding of topics I deem important to help further my goals towards these two grand visions. Whether that be in engineering, chemistry, biology, mathematics, physics, economics, psychology, philosophy or much more. I am always telling people in my circle or online to think more optimistically and to remember that they ultimately are the masters of their universe. In that they have control of much more than they accredit themselves to. I hope someone sees this and feels inspired to take action! Even if it’s in small gradual steps.

My guy standing behind the Kybalion! Super powerful book if you're conscious enough to integrate the teachings, respect Dan! 🤜 (Also, I was trying to search for you mentioning the Kybalion within the vid transcript - I've noticed that you don't seem to have a direct search function in the transcript - just figured I'd mention this as it may help other folks search more effectively for the nuggets of wisdom that you distill so well.) Peace! ✌️

I remember reading a bit about your earlier entrepreneurship journey and where you were before... it's really astounding (and inspiring!) how far you've come and how that shows even in how you present/share information. This was definitely a much-needed motivational boost :) I'm actually super curious: you obviously are a fan of using AI "helping you" with your goals, getting stuff done, etc. (as long as you have a vision to tell it what to do). How much of this video / post was AI, and in what ways did you use it?

“The path to full control of your life…”, I think some of the advice in this video is exactly the problem. You’ll NEVER be in full control, just get used to that and learn the surf the waves of life. I guess I’m in the magical 1%, which is maybe why this video didn’t resonate fully with me. I do agree in having a clear vision for where you want to go - that’s absolutely essential to do anything that’s not commanded by others.

If you can do this is highly depending of your energy level and health (physical and psychological). Not every has the energy to go his/her own path. Also, using the frame that society gives you is not the worst option in most western societies, because people love security. You always have to pay a price, and the price for freedom and a creative life can be quite high (I paid it). Despite of this, it's very useful to analyze the rules under which one operates.

"Never let formal education get in the way of your learning." - Mark Twain // "Those who desire only techniques will never understand this art. It is everything beyond that." - Masaaki Hatsumi // This problem, and passivity is a growing cultural epidemic of identity loss and NPD trait. We've never had better tech, but the job market competition has never been greater. You have to create your own learning system. Schools struggle to integrate coursework. It's very asymptotic at the boundary. If you don't broaden your mind, you are with the lemmings at the cliff, over-specialized. There are problems to solve. The field is open. There are no masters. Teachers only aid you on your journey. My degree was a piece of paper.

Agency is the best defence against AI, this is my insight. I may not want to run the same type of operation as Dab recommends. I have my own strategy - I am planning to move first to one country and then to another, then I plan to launch a business on amazon or another marketplace and start making money there. This is my example of agency. Of course, I understand that AI may be used in order to perform some of the tasks within that business model, but I will be at the top because it's me who'll launch the biz, not AI. The big question comes with regard to the time when AI is capable of launching the businesses like this. In this case, such an AI will have the cognitive capacity similar to mine, which means that I won't be needed anymore. This is when we are going to find ourselves in a bind... Dan doesn't speak about this becsuse the overall video is driven by the concept of agency, but he doesn't say that AI will get that too eith time. I think that the homo sapiens will stop existing at that point. Before that time comes, agency is the best defense against AI.
