i cried when Ryuu said "Luminous Wind" after casting the spell during the fight with juggernaut for the first time with astrea familia. like the pain in her voice really nailed the scene. the voice actor did the incredible job. absolutely outstanding. gosh wish i can unsee and see it again.

@@poggamus4330 They have a different definition for "Hero", mind you, it shouldn't be your comic superhero with modern values of no kill bs. If he himself wants to avoid killing, that's separate (author not fully committed to the setting to be honest, but that'd be another discussion), but the heroes he looks up to, like Achilleus, would kill in a daily basis so, while not his cup of tea, he still is capable of understanding it for others if there is a reason, and Ryuu had enough reason. Thus, it is reasonable that he can look the other way and just look at what Ryuu means to him, that's all that's really important. It doesn't really affect what a Hero is to him, nor for the story, for we aren't talking of the Hero you are think we're talking in the first place.

Woah! This song really expresses the feeling of ryu during that fight sequence. During that sequence, ryu doesn't have a say, has to prepare to chant her spell and the lyrics are expressing how she is feeling that entire time. Damn

Sadly though, the adaptation of both of them was done poorly, rushing a lot of important/significant moments and details Honestly the best way to truly experience Danmachi and its superb writing is via the main Light Novel series and the branching series as well (Sword Oratoria and Familia Myth)

Each time I was swept away by a different emotion, breath ragged and the tears won't stop. I didn't feel the joy when one of my favorite scene was delivered spectacularly, I should. I didn't feel satisfied that the emotions of my beloved characters had become alive and reached the audiences, I should. I didn't feel fulfilled even when many praised the massive passion and love put into this episode, but I should. There's only a void. It was breathless, and I couldn't utter a single word. I've been waiting for years to see the fate of Astrea Familia, but I certainly wasn't expecting it to happen all at once. The battle with the Juggernaut was actually shockingly violent and traumatic, all the moreso for how quickly the members of Astrea Familia were cut down. I was so caught up in the horror of what was happening on the screen that I didn't even notice the exquisite song playing underneath it when I first watched it, and had to go back and re-watch the episode after finding this music video. Not only the gorgeously poetic lyrics, but the instrumentation and arrangement are masterful. And of course, Saori Hayami is sublime. She is easily my favorite voice actress of this era, maybe even of all time, or at least tied with Kikuko Inoue.

I have so many questions about why Astrea left the way she did, and it seems pretty clear from the story that Ryu thinks she understands, but doesn't. I'm hoping that Ryu escapes the deep floors with Bell and is reunited with Astrea.

@@lqfr8813 What I'm saying is, I think there's a different explanation that hasn't been revealed, yet, and the fact that Astrea didn't rescind her blessing is the biggest clue. in the episode, it's pretty clear that Ryu is begging Astrea to leave, not because she fears for Astrea's safety, but because Ryu knows that she is going to do something she doesn't want Astrea to witness. Ryu clearly isn't seeking Justice, she wants revenge. Astrea almost certainly knows this, but leaves anyway, without rescinding Ryu's blessing, ostensibly because she knows what Ryu is going to do, and approves, even though Ryu is ashamed of what she has resolved to do. Astrea is the Goddess of Justice.

​@@gcvrsa if you have not read light novel please dont read this because probably spoiler. . i think theres not much explaination in that situation. the last familia astrea has that time is only ryuu and she is about to do something that will make the guild asking astrea for responsibility. ryuu is the type of person that cannot bear this. astrea simply going along with her request as the last familia . astrea said to ryuu before leaving that she should cast aside her justice but ryuu misinterpret it as if she was disowned by astrea. but what astrea meant is to not grip so hard on her own concept of justice so she can live better in new environment. . on the last battle with freya, ryuu got her status upgraded by astrea after she was told where astrea is staying, and go back to orario with astrea along with her new familia members.

Give Saori an award already! This is one of the best voice acting I've ever felt, she is really delivering everything in this season AND she's also singing in the most epic episode of the series. Episode 20 can not go unnoticed, it deserves something big, don't know what but it does, full of emotion, such a great adaptation, amazing voice acting, great animation and full action story arc. This has been an amazing season, I can only imagine how good it's going to be the end (I think I can no longer keep crying but OMG this end is gonna be EPIC!).

Why I ignored this masterpiece? I was introduced with this anime almost a year ago but didn't watch it cuz I thought its a harem anime. I'm glad I finally watched this. Don't judge this anime with its 1st season cuz from 3rd season onwards till the end of 4th season its getting better than ever. From 3rd season it turned into a very Dark, gruesome adventure anime with heart- shattering plots and ost. And this video of episode 20 S4 is so precious that it'll make you cry. J. C. Staff studio took me by surprised and broke all my expectation. They adapt this anime specifically season 4 so well I can't thank you enough.

Absolutely! rarely do the quality and funding of an anime get substantially better in latter seasons. I think the danmachi franchise is exceptional because it manages to earn huge amount of profits from games and then they could finance the anime with huge fundings, allowng epic episodes like this song. Of course the source material needs to be great, but how many animes origianated from light novels get 4 seasons?

No me arepiento de aver elegido a Danmachi como mi primer anime y novela gracias al creador Fujino Ōmori, jc staf y a warner brothers japan Anime por darnos esta maravillosa historia que en lo personal me hace llorar como nunca y ojala haya Danmachi para futuro
