Also don't be discouraged with feeling like you didn't declutter enough. Like I said in previous comment after the big declutter you will literally just start automatically grabbing stuff around house to declutter and will donate/sell those piles. It gets SO much easier after this big declutter. (For myself I didn't get rid of nearly enough clothes in beginning. I highly recommend setting aside maybe items for about 6 months as a lot of declutterers often suggest. It's a huge help, takes pressure off initally. Hang in there, you got this!

I am so impatient and i need to grow some patience 🤣 When i want to do something or I start a project, I want to get it done ASAP. I feel like even after this declutter theres going to be so much more ill have to come back and declutter again. I was wondering if that was a good idea, not having a maybe pile, I think that may have made things more stressful. I was questioning that, but then again, there comes impatient Danielle LOL 🤣 I needed this comment, thank you so much for your advice, support and encouragement, it means so much! Thank you!

You hiding in your tub to collect yourself because you're overwhelmed is a #mood. Proud of you. We've all been there. I should add more to this. The purge-regret is real sometimes. That's why, no matter how fed up I am with my clutter, or how stressed I am, I can't just let myself rage purge. I have to be methodical. I am both a recovering shopaholic and a mild hoarder. If I purge too much too quickly without consideration, I will suddenly feel a "lack" that I need to medicate with new purchases, even when I have SOOOOO much stuff and need nothing! I can't do the getting everything out at once. All though moving sort of created that overwhelm and I was able to get rid of things as I moved in, but that was after I went through the trouble of packing everything and bringing it here. Even now I have a growing donate pile that I'm just collecting, mostly in case I experience the regret for anything. I like to give myself a window of time that if I really feel a lack about, I can go shopping in my donate pile because that's safer and cheaper than going to get new things. You're noticing your responses to the process, you're keeping your end goal in mind, you're remaining aware of potential slip ups and struggles. You're doing great. Oh yeah, that's the other thing I have to tell myself constantly and you touched on. It took years to get where you are. Years of shopping and hoarding for me. I can't expect to heal and recover and fix a problem in hours that took me years to get into.

I decluttered my clothes by category. Started with my jeans. I found 28 pair of jeans!!! Declutter by category enabled me try them on. Only kept what fit and what I thought looked good. Ended up with 6 pair. Still too many, but will review during my next declutter. Moved on to blouses/shirts, then skirts, then dresses, then blazers, then dressier pants. Worked great for me. Must admit that I'll need at least 1 or 2 more clothes drcluttering sessions.

I know I know, I should have stayed on it, but I'll finish it today) I filled four 30 gallon trash bags with clothes! Some of them still had tags on them. None of them had been worn for over 5 years, some way longer. I have 4 medium sized boxes full of things I haven't used in YEARS. A George Foreman grill still in the box, & gobs of stuff too boring to go in to. Gadgets !!!!! The bags of clothes, & boxes are going to be donated today.

I have a secret dream of an RV life one day. Also a very small house. So I want to practice living with the amount of clothes (and all possessions) that would fit that lifestyle. I would like to not manage/store clothes that I dont wear atleast x2/mo. If not its being passed on to the next person to use more than me. Clothes have too much energy and emotion for me to own too much. The more I donate the better I feel. I frequent our wonderful Goodwill for new items and then donate to a small charity shop to raise money for feeding events for the community. I also believe in the boundary system ! Also tips, I recommand for the storage of the clothes, draws with the Marie Kondo folding techniques. I've adopted it since a few months and OMG. You can store so many clothes in only one draws. All my clothes fit in 3 draws, that's it. And I've got a few (not really minimalist, just not too much). Also it's so great because you can see all your clothes in the draws ! You can see everything you've got and like that you see what you wear. (you don't have a shit that's at the bottom of the draws that you never wear). If you don't know about it just google "Marie Kondo folding" and you'll find a lot of tips ! It's really amazing. Life changing. PLUS, super easy ! Anyway, continue like this, lot of love.

Highly recommend velvet hangers for the closet. Costco has some for like $20 for a pack of 50. It'll allow you to hang more. I recently did the same clothing declutter and I went back two weeks later and decided whether or not I wanted to remove any more.

My entire household doesn't get anything down our dropshoot to our basement. It's in our bathroom and they just leave their clothes in the bathroom floor.
