@WinterReflections4 жыл бұрын
@@elliotplaysgames_No, Arm and Hammer baking soda. Crack is made from a chemical reaction between baking soda and cocaine. Arm & Hammer is THE most prominent brand of baking soda in America. They also make laundry detergent, but it was definitely a reference to baking soda. The whole point of crack is that by freebasing the cocaine using sodium bicarbonate, it stretches it further and makes smaller doses more effective. Doesn't really need to be cut with other stuff. But yeah, the rest of it was a play on detergent names with the "laundry" theme. Crack being cut with laundry detergent is not something I've heard of. Those rappers are referencing baking soda.

I get this feeling that this new album won't be as dark as his last, but will still be at least as experimental and forward thinking. Time will tell tho'.

You may be right. However, given the sound of this track, it may be more straightforward / less of a wildly experimental trip than AE was too.

For his last album he signs to a techno label from Sheffield. And releases an album named after a Joy Division song. For the follow up I think I'm gonna get Q Tip from Tribe to produce this one!!! Damn Danny Brown does it his own way dudes a true original.

Atrocity Exhibition takes it's name from a book title most likely, the cover art of the album is similar to the book, and have more connected themes.

@@windowsmizu416 sorry to be a dick but From The Guardian interview On Tuesday, Danny Brown, one of rap’s most interesting voices, released his new album, Atrocity Exhibition, named after a Joy Division song (itself named after the book by JG Ballard). Brown has a longstanding relationship with the band. In a 2013 Guardian interview, he cited Ian Curtis as an influence, and the band have informed his music since 2011’s album XXX. Brown told Rolling Stone that he named the album Atrocity Exhibition because he identified with Curtis’s pain in the song - the authenticity of which received terrible confirmation when the singer hanged himself in 1980, aged 23. “I just relate to that song a lot,” he said. “That song, [Ian Curtis is] pretty much talking about how he feels like he’s part of a freak show almost. People just wanna come see him and they just wanna see him be a certain type of way. I totally relate to that.” That said he probably read the book too knowing Danny.
@windowsmizu4164 жыл бұрын
@@jurassicmarc77 Thanks for the info, and RIP Curtis. I don't doubt he took inspiration from the book either, and I wasn't denying it's connection to Joy Division either, but it definetly came off like I was, thanks again for the information. Learn something new every day.
