LYRICS
Verbal couture
Parkour
With the metaphors
The flow house of horror
Dead bolted with metal doors
Grinch bitch
Six sense
With a nose drip
Mind skydive
Sniffing bumps
In the cockpit
Locksmith of Hip Hop
Appraisal the wrist watch
The rocks bout the size
As the teeth in Chris Rock's mouth
Sock out the mic
Prototype for Adderall
Your work killing fiends
Cause you cut it with Fentanyl
So much coke
Just to sniff need a ski lift
Flip your table over
If you cut it with the bullshit
Nose bleeds red carpets
But it just blend in
Snapping pictures
Feeling my chest being sunk in
Live a fast life
Seen many die slowly
Unhappy when they left
So I try to seize the moment
Funny how it happens
Who ever would imagine
That jokes on you
But Satan the one laughing
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it
I can sell honey to a bee
In the fall time
Make trees
Take back they leaves
Octopus in a straight jacket
Savage with bad habits
Broke serving fiends
Got rich became a addict
Ain’t it funny how it happens
Who would ever would imagine
Nose running right now
Could ya pass me a napkin
Managed to somehow
To have the upper advantage
Panic when the drugs are gone
And nobody is answering
Ain’t it funny how it happens
Ain't it
Ain't it funny how it happens
No way to mask it
A lot became has beens
Rolling up that 100 dollar bill
Till they cash in
Thinks it gone last
Going too fast
Man it's fucked up
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it
Ain't it funny how it happen
Upcoming heavy traffic
Say ya need to slow down
Cause you feel yourself crashing
Staring in the devil face
But ya can’t stop laughing
Staring in the devil face
But ya can't stop laughing
It’s a living nightmare
That most of us might share
Inherited in our blood
It's why we stuck in the mud
Can’t quit the drug use
Or the alcohol abuse
Even if I wanted to
Tell you what I’m gonna do
I’ma wash away my problems
With this bottle of Henny
Anxiety got the best of me
So popping them Xannies
Might need rehab
But to me that shit pussy
Pray for me y’all
Cause I don't know what coming to me
Bought a 8 ball of coke
And my nigga on the way
Got 3 hoes with him
And they all tryna play
Ain't it funny how it happens
Who ever would imagine
Jokes on you
But Satan the one laughing
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it
Ain't it funny how it happens
Ain't it

Well that explains a lot. I just got laid off a couple days ago and the conversations with my wife and father that ensued after that were fucking intense. A manic, panic induced, adrenaline rushed, breakdown that had me feeling actually great after I let it all out. I'm feeling better now but I was basically feral for a little bit.

This song is absolutely addictive. The beat is so aggressive. I wouldn't call it scary, but it induces this feeling, the feeling like everyone in the room is running for their lives. Like everyone's in an airtight sealed bunker and it's starting to flood with water. It's just so great.

I’m glad Danny hasn’t “Died Like A Rockstar” but very sad Mac did. We need to take substance abuse and depression more seriously. Seems like every rapper is drug addicted, depressed, and borderline suicidal nowadays. Very sad state of affairs for the hip-hop culture. right, so to get back on subject, my opinion is that it really depends on just how serious the management/front office are to trying to get a championship. Bledsoe is a wildcard every season when it comes to injuries and just reached his prime now, the longer we hold him the lower his value becomes. I believe the sooner they trade him the better. Unfortunately for me too as i have really become a huge fan of his. But i want my Suns to have the best possible team.

The answer that the dad gives "none of us feel okay" is the unraveling of the concept of this video. The reason why they are ignoring Danny's problem is because they dont know how to help, so they ignore him and lie to them themselves to feel a little better, but the creepy part is that they are all a family and share one thing: They are all fucked up. Thats why they hang out with Danny when he is doing drugs. Danny is the "Real" and Woke version of his family. He notices more in-depth what his struggles and demons are and is striving to overcome them but fails due to lack of help, meanwhile the family is so fucked up and deep in the hole that they dont even know where ro start to help THEMSELVES. So they are oblivious to everything. Even the ones closet to them. It gets deep and as you can see its a real dark concept. Quite like Bojack Horseman

Artists like this deserve an actually good life, at least a decent one, and the kind of fame where more people know his name. Actual access to the help they need and fans trying to be supportive, and many other things shouldn’t be so little. Not even just artists deserve care. I think it shouldn’t be so goddamn common to think life is a joke, to be abused or be a substance abuser, be treated like shit for not being a stereotype but then also being too close to a stereotype/not good enough, and so on.

Fuck dude. This video is pretty meaningful. At least, to me. It seems to me like this whole video is a metaphor for how we view celebrities in the media when they abuse drugs. And how they develop serious addictions. But we as fans, eat that shit up, so nobody really worries to much. Celebrities are humans too, they have problems too. Especially in the realm of drugs. I think that's what Danny Brown and Jonah Hill were trying to say with this video.

Danny is one of the few rappers I appreciate showing excessive drug use in his videos because it has meaning and it holds a mirror to how shitty it really is to the person using it. while it's glorified it's still self medication due to feeling broken or loss or whatever reason but it's not positive. Personally I don't have shit against future or migos but the way they glorify drug use has had major influence on many people causing more people to experiment with more hard core shit, lean is basically liquid heroin but it's not delivered through a needle so it doesn't have that stigma with people. However at the end of the day if you're a adult your choices are your own and I'm not here to declare a war on drug on some d.a.r.e bullshit I just think if you're gonna be exposed to something see all sides of it good and bad.

im sorry but take it from an ex heroin user lean is not even in the same galaxy as heroin. i went from perc 30s to oxy contin to heroin when i first got to college, from starting snorting 30s to injecting heroin literally only took about 6 months thats how quick the downward spiral was. i did lean back in high school every once in awhile the whole 4 years and never developed a habit. its once you start doing the 30s and oxys when you really run the risk of getting physically dependent on the drug. if your like me your probably doing it just to have fun with your friends or to take the edge off. i dont think anyone goes into it wanting to become a junkie thats what people dont understand. you just get in to deep and by the time you want to get out your sick as hell and end up using to just maintain and be able to get threw the day. its literally hell on earth. but if someone is drinking lean at a party on the weekend or every once in awhile they should be fine. its not so much the drugs you do i think but its also your life outside of drugs, u have to be responsible. its just when ur doing oxys or heroin if you do it enough you cant just stop or it feels like the flu times a million so ur gonna have to get high just to get threw a day. i smoke pot and do acid and molly every once in awhile and haven't touched an opiate in 6 years and my life is so much better now i love life and respect the substances i put into my buddy so even tho it must sound wierd the respect me back and as a result my life for the most part is amazing nowadays. sorry for the rant ive just heard alot people say lean is liquid heroin just because its an opiate, but not all opiates are built the same believe me. if i was withdrawing off heroin or percs/oxys and drank 4 bottles of lean i would still be sick, thats how weak of an opiate it is in comparison.

A public response, I'm not trying to take anything away from Edward's experiences or opinions Lean, which is codeine, metabolizes into morphine once it reaches that liver. Codeine doesn't do anything in itself, instead it creates a reaction. This is likely why people don't feel nearly as high as when they take a morphine tablet or something of the likes. Percocet, Oxycontin, that chemical is more potent than morphine. Codeine can't even compare to heroin, Ed's right, just as morphine can't compare to diamorphine. It's still an opiod, it's much more dangerous considering promethazine, which can be harmful at a low, one time doses in itself, interacts with the body load aswell as nausea, so they won't vomit if someone has taken too much. My point is, the popular drugs right now (lean, molly, any opiod or amphetamine) all have the potential to be incredibly dangerous if you don't take the steps required to be somewhat healthy while tinkering with your chemistry. If anybody found my comment confusing, just please do research on what you're putting into your body. Knowledge on pharmacology has saved many lives from painful or dangerous experiences You are all loved, be safe, know how deep the pool is before you dive in P.S. I'm a benzo user, and to anybody else that uses or may use benzos, specifically xanax for recreation, it's harsh and never ends pleasently. Definitely not worth the buzz for the risks you're taking

This is one of those songs that I hate to listen to, but I love that it exists. Not at all an easy listening track, but it's saying what needs to be said about society.

DANNY REHAB IS NOT PUSSY IT'S ONE OF THE TOUGHEST THINGS TO DO BUT THE MOST REWARDING. A HUGE PART OF YOUR PHILOSOPHY IS TO WORK HARD FOR YOUR EARNINGS -also therapy is hella underrated, doesn't work for everyone but works for a lot -also please continue the great music

Finn Mikkelsen You completely miss the point of that line. His mindset is so screwed up from addiction to drugs, that even though he needs rehab, he washes out his pain with more abuse. "Pray for me y'all because I don't know what's coming for me." The song is pretty much a plea for help (whether he's gotten it or not) in a time where he can't even stop himself.
@finnmikkelsen7062

I definitely feel ya that the song is generally an ode to his extensive drug habits and how it has affected him psychologically but I can't think of any other way to interpret "might need rehab but to me that shit pussy, pray for me y’all cause I don't know what coming to me" He's just saying he's too fargone down the spiiral

Phenomenal!!! It blew me away that you guys had the balls to come out with this totally honest social commentary in such a way, especially given your industry. Kudos. Extra cool points that you made this so well I doubt you'll have much backlash since far too many people will still watch with their own perspective and fail to recognize the point.
