Danny was in the first class of the Rock Academy in Tilburg the Netherlands. Two other most succesfull classmates where Jacqueline Govaert (from the band Krezip) and Floor Jansen (from the band Nightwish).

Danny Vera is awesome! If you're interested in more great music from The Netherlands, I would definitely recommend Di-Rect & Kensington Vrienden van Amstel Live. It's two bands performing together doing some awesome covers like Nirvana and RATM with an orchestra and choir.

It's a live-performance in a radio studio. Don't these things happen in the US of A? Pretty normal over here. Sure, nowadays always complemented with camera's. That's how these things go,.

My partner is Dutch and Danny Vera is huge there, her mum loves him :) it's a great tune and I really get a Glen Campbell feel from the strings

Thx as ever for your insight! First time I heard this I myself thought Willy Nelson had a new single out. Boy was I off. Danny before played with his band in a Dutch ‘soccer talkshow” as housebound. Your remark about old folkmusic is quite right !! Danny has his own radio show in the Netherlands and he’s teaching us to listen to more old American (folk, country and Blues) music !!! 40’s, 50 and 60’s……. But I guess you already know what influenced him.

Hi David. Great reaction. a nice thing to know is: the dutch radio NPO Radio 2 is always playing a top 2000 from december 25 till januari 1 0:00. in 2020 this song was number 1, it beated bohemian of queen.

FYI npo radio 2 --> Nederlandse Publieke Omroep which is basically the states public television and radio. Different channels different types of music but 2 is usually the most general with the most difference in genres

@@THEDavidHeretic Hi David, I have one question. I've just watched the "welcome nightwish fans" video. Not because I'm a Nightwish fan but for the information about the channel. Very good video! In this video you said that the que is about 1000 songs long. A quick look at your video's learns me that you upload about 2 video's a day. Does that mean that when you become a bronze member on your patreon that you have to wait more than a year before one of your request is reacted to?

@@Dasypodidae45 Unfortunately yes, probably longer. The que is currently 1282 songs long. Before I switched requesting to Patreon, the que was over 1630...so Patreon is working.

This song was deemed best song ever made on THE best-song-ever list in the Netherlands. Bit of hype of course, but finally it took the #1 from Bohemian Rapsody. Wish it would storm the hit lists in other countries as well, especially the US. The entire midlands of the US should love this song.

I like this song, but i feel it is because it's a bit of a throwback to a well-liked country music style of the fifties through to the seventies (think Jim Reeves or a Glenn Campbell)

nice reaction we love danny here in the netherlands maybe a nice suggestion this is a dutch matal band progressif power and symphonic matal if you want to see some heavier but one of their best performances i would do this EPICA - Consign To Oblivion - Live at the Zenith (OFFICIAL VIDEO) but if you want a want to hear a band together with an orchestra and choir and not too intense I would give this one a try EPICA - Unleashed (OFFICIAL LIVE) if you read this and comment on this band try these live versions because they often play better live than studio so good they are! greetings from the Netherlands

Danny wrote and compost the and I am sure that he did also all the arrangements. Danny did the same study as Floor Jansen at the Rock academy of Tilburg. The study is in the Netherlands a university study. I don't know if you know Floor Jansen, she is the lead singer of Nightwish. If you don't know them then I advise you to see them.

If he liked the arrangement of this song, I think he will like Symphonic Metal a lot. He could try, where most people start their journey with Nightwish, the song Ghost Love Score (offical live) which they did at Wacken 2013. The video with approximately 22 million views.

love this performance but the fingerpicking of Danny Vera was a bit rough at times...

his guitar playing was not that clean to be honoust as a picking country guitarist myself... mainly ment him in the intro. He did great most of time but had some mistakes. At times he was a bit late with his picking due to the string resistance.. sometimes that nice but it sounded like its not just by purpose.
