We live in desperate times and alot is happening in my country that sometimes almost makes me ashamed that i'm dutch... Especially what has happened yesterday, my fellow countrymen know exactly what I mean! 😪 But man, hearing al these (dutch) songs again makes me feel proud! For such a small country we're só big in sports, trade and definitely music! Great channel... subscribed 👍🏼

You are soooooooo right, the older music had so much more quality than nowadays. And in the Nederlands they appreciate real music and real voices. There are also some "artists" who are using autotune but they are not appreciated in the Netherlands by the major music lovers. This song from Danny is real, like Ogene, Within Temptation and all the others.

Thank you so much for your lovely reaction. I knew you would love it 😊 isn't wonderful to see the faces of the people playing the instruments and see how much they love making music. It really makes me happy. And his voice and the lyrics! The rollercoasters of life, we all get our highs and lows, isn't it? At the end the all make our lifes worth while. The highs give us the hapiness and the deeps make us the people we are and our strength. Another lovely song to react to is from Yebba, my mind, the live performance. I don't know much about her, I think she's American. But in that performance she shows her deepest feeling. It's so vunerable and beautiful. Thanks again for reacting on Danny! ❤

Did you notice he switched up a full octave when the strings started playing? (And lowered back to the initial low key at the end...) Danny has an incredible versatile voice. This performance isn't at the same level as the album version though, he seems to be a bit out of breath in the lower parts, which doesn't do the song justice, and also seems to make him a bit hesitant at the guitar... which is a real shame because the studio version (and some live versions too) is absolute perfection. I had been listening to this song on the radio for half a year when I found out he is Dutch... I had no idea.

First time hearing - country is far from a favourite genre for me, but he has a lovely voice and the backing musicians are wonderful. So will certainly give him another shot or two of listens - even if he is unlikely to make it onto my home playlist. Everyone should give everyone a chance or three - nothing new will ever be discovered otherwise. I won't like everything - but at least I tried, all the way through - as I do on all new artists for me that Mr H features. I can't do fairer than that.

It is not strictly country what he does, it is an amalgam of country, rock’n roll and even a bit of soul. And he shares something with Marillion in that he is as much a cottage industry as they are. He own his records and sells them directly to his fans but also sets up distribution deals to get them into record stores. He has a really cool weekly vlog with his (quite gorgeous) wife and you regularly see him packing / shipping the merchandise ordered through his webshop.
