I have the original Acelith F1 style rim for my G920. Had it for over three years now and it's been a gamechanger.

Question ... Did you upgrade your G920 wheel or do you still have it?
@Half_of_The_World2 ай бұрын
I like the look of the GT3 version, since I've never really got on well with the F1 style wheels, and the one that recesses into the wheel to lie flussh with the buttons is just perfection.

I would buy one but not for £125, so ill skip this one unfortunately

Thanks very much for the video. I just bought this because of your recommendation.

I use a Logitech and I would say using gloves is a good idea if you're planning to do endurance races. I raced a dirt oval league for a while and due to the driving style I found that the wheel rubbed one the inside of my thumb kind of like a rope burn after a night of racing. So I started wearing a single glove on just that hand which solved my problem.

I've a big fan of the magnetic shifter mod. Got one as a stocking filler one Christmas and as 3D printed and I REALLY tighten them I've had to replace mine twice (again my own fault for over tightening) When without this mod having to use the stock shifter feels numb. To me this is one of the very few cheap mods for the G29/... wheels that is well worth the cost. As of now I've magnetic shifter mod, Truebrake, upgraded power supply. Not gone to whole wheel replacement but as a (relatively) low cost upgrade it's something I could ask for a Birthday/Christmas present without it being excessive. While going to a T300 or any DD would be more of an investment. For context: I'm in my 50s and play about once a week so not looking to spend loads on my setup but little upgrades that are casual budget friendly are nice.

At this point you should have just bought a cheap DD setup. Moza R5 or Cammus C5
@ahicracing8846 ай бұрын
@@DarrenMartin-bw8zi PS5 player. Moza or Cammas dont work. Also, as mentioned the mods were incremental presents. Also, what would I have used instead for the last 3 years or so. I’m happy with my setup. Works for me.

Tennis racket grips on the handles work great. I got a similar carbon fibre version from a guy in Scotland at Alien Sim Products which is worth checking out if shipping is an issue

I'm not planning on upgrade from my G29 (due to budget reasons), so this seems like a pretty good and cheap "upgrade" since I mainly play iRacing and ACC

I was wondering "Who the hell would 'tune'" their Logitech GXX(X) series wheels... Oh, it's Dann, let's see :D

It sounds crazy to take it this far, but clearly there's demand! Acelith built a business around serving that need that's been going for years. Logitech wheels are absolutely EVERYWHERE

Thought I'd mention that the shipping costs is the same for a number of places anywhere to the UK now - I ordered a Fanatec R2R setup, and they removed the VAT from the cost. You pay import fees to UPS after they receive it + a £14 fee (I think). It appears to be a little cheaper than if VAT had been added.
@dannyleeracing6 ай бұрын
That's true for Fanatec, just not true for Acelith for small orders. Not sure exactly what they have to do to send low value items across our border, but whatever it is they're not willing to do it
@zKaltern6 ай бұрын
@@dannyleeracing Ahh Understood. Probably not worth their time I guess, there's a 22% export tax from Italy to pay for most items which probably adds up. Shame. Could be worse tho - they could be in Canada... now THAT is expensive!

I strongly recommend instead of investing in logitech upgrades, switching to a low-cost direct drive, such as moza, cammus. no matter how much you try to make modifications, it will be a gear motor with lag and 2nm of torque
@ZorkusYT3 ай бұрын
moza and cammus doesnt have console support

You are talking about 400$ and up. People may have the Logitech already. Or they picked up a used one. You can't compare it. People have become snobs. They are not helping people they look down on them and telling them to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars for some that may not be used much.
