Another great video and appreciate you adding some times to your catches. I finally had my first Barbel yesterday morning after three months of blanking...only 6lb but felt like 16lb to me !!! Superglued Hinders pellet (wrapped in paste) over a bed of hemp / mixed pellet. Was only in the water for 30secs and BANG the rod went. Absolutely made-up :) Keep the vids coming and appreciate the advice you give every week. Tight lines.

Shame about France I was looking forward to that. Great vid again Danny, one question for you. What size length of hooklink do you usually use for Barbel, and do you increase it for clearer water conditions, if so how long. Thanks again mate
@DannysAnglingBlog4 жыл бұрын
yeah mate probably for the best to be honest given how situation has escalated in a week. No matter the conditions i tie the hook links the length of my arm span, im sure i read somewhere your arm span matches your height so bout 5ft10 haha. from here i play it by ear if im getting bangs and no bites i go shorted as i feel fish are on feeder if no bites then go longer or smaller hook/ hook bait

Does using 2 rods really add to the catch rate? I want to try using 2 but have nightmares about double hookups
@DannysAnglingBlog4 жыл бұрын
deffo mate it allows you to target two areas on the bigger rivers for sure. for example on this session i had a line closer in where i could be accurate and control feed with hemp but alsohad that far bank line along cover which was fed just with feeder so you have two areas youcan draw fish with. double hook ups are always going be a posibility but the pros of having two rods out weight the very very rare chance of 2 takes

Catapulting hemp out is pointless! Gets washed away if even in a low flow. Nice vid though 👍
@DannysAnglingBlog4 жыл бұрын
far from it elliot, hemp is a heavy bait that will sink to the bottom get stuck in the gravel on the bottom and over time will wash down stream, this will in turn draw fish up stream as the bait slowly trundles down. as you put more in over session it ensures theres hemp in your swim when fish arrive to hold them. have fished slow rivers to fast rivers and use hemp all the time and trust me the bait will stay in swim a lot longer then you think
