I think Fat Mike is one of the most underrated bassists. That dude has written some epic bass lines and amazing songs. And he sings lead vocals while doing it.

You’re absolutely right. Mike’s “up-stroke triplet” technique is so unique that it’s instantly recognizable as his playing. Not only that, but his lyrics are the wittiest lyrics ever! He’s so under-rated so I try and sing his praises any chance I get. Glad to see I’m not alone

JJ every time for me. The sound was so iconic. That coupled with keys (of all things, wtf) made the Stranglers’ punk sound. Always felt sorry for JJ’s basses though. That’s a lot of battering to take.
