You know you have really good fried fish when you can hear the crunch when you bite into it. I love fish and chips with malt vinegar, that's the way I like it. Put whatever you like on your fish and chips. I like to dip my chips in bleu cheese dressing.

Those look good, I'll have to try this place next trip. The best fish and chips I've had so far was in Henderson at The Codfather. It's a hole-in-the-wall shop, but so good. They have curry sauce and mushy peas like they serve in Britain. The place next to Fulton Fish Frye is also pretty good, Gonzalez y Gonzalez.

If you're in the Framingham, Massachusetts area, Ken's Steakhouse is a great place to eat. If you go, make it on Thursday through Sunday and eat at their Cafe V, with a separate dining room, kitchen and chefs.

NYC School lunches back in the day had rectangular fish but you forgot the embedded cheese under the breading. Those were the days. I remember they used to have this graham cracker sandwich filled with PB&J then covered in chocolate. You could not buy it if you tried today

Hey Danny, How does the NY NY fish and chips compare with the fish and chips at Ellis Island casino? I tend to stay away from the Gordon Ramsey fish and chips at Caesars Palace. The Ramsey fish and chips are double the price you paid and is not very good, you also get less food than what you had. You're up walking around at 5 am and don't look a bit tired, oops, it's 8 am in NY. Nice to see your vlog. LOL, don't forget to post your vlog if you get mugged in Vegas, I hope she's cute!

Hi Danny! OMG those fish and chips looked delicious. That NYC Food Court is a treasure, isn’t it? Have you hit a bad place there, yet? As mentioned. Ken’s is a huge salad dressing and condiments company. Maybe it’s western based as L.A. markets have rows of their stuff and the quality is very very good. Tartar is mayo based so a natural product for them. Adding ketchup basically makes a 1000 Island dressing. Fun tour and I won’t be using those napkins on my face or eyes. Warning heeded. Joe

Great job on this video Danny ... I totally enjoyed the stroll through the "somewhat" typical New York street. Since I've never actually been to NYC (yet), this was fun for me. Especially with your commentary (like the trash and gum on the streets, and the cops everywhere, unless you need them 😉). BTW, KEN'S is a very popular brand name and their products are sold in most major super market chains here in Florida. I particularly like their salad dressings. That fish and chips sure looked good. Fresh and flaky with a light crispy batter, and ketchup for me too please ... YUMMM! Thanx for another fun video. 👍

I tried that same Fulton Street fish and couldn't finish it; I thought it was gross...is the fish & chips at Nine Fine Irishmen (next door) better? I've honestly never noticed much of the replicated storefronts, etc. between the food outlets; NYNY has always been such a dark cave of a property.

for the american palate i have found that it takes 4 times on average with vinegar. here are the 4 stages: 1) "holy crap! this tastes awful!!!" 2) "why would people ruin a beautiful piece of fried fish with this crap!" 3) "meh, to each his own. not horrible i guess." 4) "ok, not too bad. it adds a certain something." 5) "WHERE IS THE VINEGAR??!!" it is a bit of an investment in time that most give up on right away but worth the effort in the long run. 🤷‍♂️

For me as an American that first tried malt vinegar on my battered fish around 30 years of age, I instantly liked it. The acid does a good job of cutting through the fat in the batter and tartar sauce releasing more flavor. The trick is moderation, don't drown it in vinegar to the point of overpowering the other flavors.

If you see me put ketchup on fish its because the fish taste bad. Ketchup is good at completely covering up the taste of food that doesn't quite measure up. If the fish is good I won't use ketchup because you can't taste the fish then. Tartar sauce I like because it adds a creaminess without covering up the taste of the fish. I never quite understood putting vinegar on fish. It's even more powerful than ketchup. But I guess it cuts through the greasiness of the fried fish. To each his own. I won't complain about your particular taste in this area I understand. Love the reviews you make. Thanks!👍

Glad you didn't eat the fish at 5 AM. Fried fish at 5 AM just seems wrong. But then again, there were no rats, urine smell, homeless, muggers etc. Eating at 5 AM would've been okay.
