Bushangels Face ID isn’t a gimmick, try it and you’ll get used to it. It’s fast and intuitive and will likely replace Touch ID in 2019 if in screen fingerprint scanners don’t come out soon enough

I like the regular Mate 10 a lot better than the Pro version. 3.5mm jack, SD Card slot (hybrid SIM), rear mounted fingerprint sensor, regular 16:9 aspect ratio display, etc.

Shit! IPhone X is nowhere near Mate 10 Pro, which is far superior in terms of everyday usage capabilities like the infrared blaster. I have a home theatre system and I control all the units with Mate 10 Pro. Desktop feature is excellent. I spent more time on this over my notebook. Shots taken by Leica dual camera truly stunning after tweaking some of the options because out the box options are kind of basic. And now the best part, backing up your data is so darn easy and lightning fast and it's done in minutes and encrypted too! Giving up on all these features for a face detection and animoji and I got to pay more ?! Fuck no!

Huawei. Had a Mate 7, now a mate 9 and I'll stick with Huawei for the foreseeable future. Extremely disappointed about the lack of jack on the 10 though. The IR blaster is amazingly handy. I thought it was a gimmick at first but I was totally wrong :x Face-ID I couldn't care less about honestly. Finger scanners are awesome especially on the back of the phone.

The problem I have with the iPhone and the majority of flagships is that they are all overcharging for their products. When someone going to really get it right and point out the fact that the emporer has no clothes. Huawei also has face recognition too. I don't use it though. A year into this phone it is still absolutely brilliant. First time ever on a 24 month contract I love my phone as much as when I first got it. I haven't had any problems at all with this phone and battery is incredible. Both charging and how long it lasts. I get over a day on Huawei even a year later. I use my phone all day.

BTW I never wanted monochrome but after having it I really like it, the resolution is actually much better and the quality is great. The color camera is also great for taking pictures in the dark. Had to take a picture bumping up the iso to 6 or 800 and shutters peed 1/60 and the picture is very crisp and no typical grains you get from high iso. I like it a lot

i like to think about my phone as an extention of myself, and I feel restricted with ios and being fooled on buying expensive things and having to buy even extra things to get what others have in one package. I has a mate 9 and now the mate 10 pro, all the handy features that phone has have made my life a lot easier. Bought a Matr 10 Pro and have been using them for 2 weeks already. Overall the pictures are nice and even no need to edit. During night still perform very well the camera. Good review , I've had the mate10 pro since launch and it's utterly outstanding, don't think we have stabilization on 4k tho but no Biggie, it makes up for it in other areas , u mention battery lasting 1 day like that's an achievement lol .. my mate 10 easily does 2 days no sweat on its 4000 batt , hopefully it will stay fast as it promises during its life , has many guesture tricks also that you didn't cover . Can't recommend it enough

I see someone has already said this but I will repeat it as it is worth stressing. As you yourself said these are close to each other in so many areas. So the elephant in the room is cost. I can (and just did) buy the M10 and for for less than half the cost of the iPhone X. That is a huge deal for me and I know with only one phone in my pocket, I will never miss not buying the iPhone X. It really is a no brainer in my mind; the Mate 10 wins hands down when I can keep over $800 in my pocket, Gosh that's 2 Mates for the 1 iPhone. That says it all.

I have a Mate 9 and still love it. Would choose Mate 10 pro any day. I played with the iPhone X for some time, good phone, not good enough for the price. Any phone that has a comma in the price tag shouldn't come with a notch IMO. I shouldnt have viewing obstruction, I should look at it and say "worth the price, it is flawless." I’ve seen a lot of people say they want 18:9 content now that many phones are going 18:9. But I think that’s a bad idea. 16:9 works much better. You’re better off zooming to fill on 16:9 then being stuck at some other ratio you can’t zoom into and then are stuck with not filling the display. Especially since 2:1 displays aren’t actually 2:1 in many cases. Like the iPhone X is 19.5:9. Other phones are 19:9, 18:9, 18.5:9, etc. Just let cell phones have more space for controls and stuff and keep the content 16:9 for now.

Any Android vs apple comparison is tough when it comes to storage and the camera. Literally the ONLY reason I keep an iPhone is because of the consistency. Too many times with an android/ windows device I've saved a file or video or picture that later is "corrupt" or "cannot be found"

Mate 10 Pro for me - iPhone X is an ok phone but the presence of the notch and lack of fingerprint scanner turn me off, and its ridiculous price tag just kills it completely. Also I really like Mate's larger display.

Very nice and friendly review. Very well done! Both phones do not have good OIS. In that Samsung is the clear winner. In this vid it looks like the Huawei is slightly better OIS than the Apple. To me (like most people) price is important because most phones are way over-priced. That is why I would stay away from Apple. In this review I like the Huawei a little better when everything is considered.
