something that makes me curious is that if dante wielded yamato and vergil wielded rebellion, would they have been able to unleash their true capabilities. just like the brothers, the swords were also opposing siblings in the human/demon dynamic but where dante chose to devote himself to humans and vergil to demons, their swords seem to be the reverse. it seems that yamato's power embodies sparda's connection to humans while rebellion's power embodies sparda's connection to demons. yamato essentially made vergil unleash the full extent of his human side while rebellion made dante unleash the full extent of his demon side. it's as if the sword that each brother had was the key to awakening the half of them they spent their whole lives fighting against

I think Vergil would be a way more powerful and cruel demon and Dante would be kind of the same as in the beginning of DMC5 but with portal summoning powers.

The amazing thing is that both sword was just like a moral to them for example the rebellion it embrace man and a devil but dante in his early days doesn't embrace it more like he hates it but now he fully embrace it without losing fate for humanity and for the yamato it separate's man and a devil vergil thinks that humanity inside him was weakness he doesn't fully embrace it unlike dante but in dmc5 he now's embraced it and now fully understand it that humanity isn't weakness

Its as if Sparda knew from the start. The signs was obvious back in their childhood as in the extra ending scene in 5 SE, they two brother mock one another for crying when one of their parents get angry, Vergil is afraid of Eva and Dante is afraid of Sparda. The lore of the game is just so great at this point, really hope DMC 6 is a thing and expand upon DMC’s universe since Sparda’s whereabouts are still unknown. And the two brothers have to get out the Demon Realm sooner or later.
