Its confirmed in lore that dante and verhil become alot weaker when they are tired which was shown in dmc 3 with archon who overpowered them easily after tricking them to tire each other out and in dmc 5 when vergil returned and easily suppressed dante and thats because dante was tired and injured which even vergil himself admits and tells dante to go rest so he can fight him as full power. Its confirmed in the guidebooks that neros devil trigger is only his version of the base devil trigger. Its basically his version of dantes base devil trigger and vergils base devil trigger. He doesnt have his sin devik trigger yet.
