Danube River Flooding in Budapest

The Danube is flooding in Hungary due to huge amounts of rain and snow in the past few days and weeks. This is what it looks like in Budapest right now. The iconic number 2 tram, favoured by tourists and locals alike is no longer running as the tracks are under water!

Water levels are going down, they've even started cleaning up in Budapest.

How is Margaret Island when the flooding happens? Does it receive extensive damage?

Luckily this time Margaret Island hasn't been flooded, but in the big floods of 10 years ago the swimming pools suffered a lot of damage!

We were in your lovely country from the 23rd to the 30th December, the water level was high then, it’s much worse now.. Wow !!

That is a big contrast from when I visited in the summer when water levels were low.

Yes, water levels were very low then. Now even the Balaton has higher water levels than usual, they’ve even opened the sluices to let some of the water out!

Nowadays I have been watching videos of Hungary. Very beautiful Country. I have been watching some of your videos. I am a portrait artist from India. Had many exhibitions in many parts of Europe but never in 3:40 Hungary. Planning on the near future to have an exhibition in your beautiful Country. Thanks for your beautiful videos.

It's an interesting video, but what surprised me was the visible graffiti. I know that countries like Georgia and Serbia have a vandalism problem, but I didn't know that Hungary had vandals as well.

I think every country has vandals. Here in upstate New York if you are caught you have to spend a few hundred hours working on a clean up crew, helps break the habit.
