I appreciate the thorough and honest review. It's criminal that the Legends team chose to not articulate at least the legs on Lockjaw. They literally just did it with Zabu. There's no excuse from them that I would buy that can excuse this bad decision. If the Classified team can fully articulate a warthog, I believe the Legends team could have articulated a giant bulldog. Especially at this price point and the limited accessories. The lack of articulation is the reason I didn't pre-order this set, which would've been the jumping on point for a new team for me, which affects future sales. If it were to drop to 50% off, I would consider it. But the lack of articulation is just such a horrible decision.

Lockjaw is a very adorable dog with a cool power set like Black Bolt and Crystal does look beautiful while having some dope power effects that she can use like the Royal family, I don't have this two pack but fantastic review Dan.

This set looks great! Definitely down for Triton and Gorgon, but a 4 pack with Black Bolt and Medusa works too.

Hasbro has a new BlackBolt and Medusa 2 pack coming. BlackBolt maybe using the Angel body mold with butterfly joint only in the back with 3 sets of different wings Medusa looks like she's using the new Phoenix body mold with 2 changeable hair piece's. These are from prototype photos that I seen.

It’d be cool if they’d integrate bendy wires into the hair somehow. And black bolt should have fabric wings like the old 2009 one. That’d eliminate the need for any sets of plastic ones

My only issue (scuplt wise and beside the price) with Marvel legends Lockjaw is how the forelegs are sticking too much on the side. I would custom that if I find a pack on sale.

2025 is the 60th anniversary of the Inhumans. It would be nice if Hasbro completed the Royal Family with Triton, Gorgon and updates to Black Bolt and Medusa. Maximus isn’t as crucial as the others for team completion, but would be an extra bonus.

I can get a real dog at the pound for less than that .

I was going to say both of these were first time figures, not even made in the heyday of **EVERYONE GETS A 5” FIGURE** ToyBiz days, but then you brought out Mezco Lockjaw. Tbh, Mezco got the coloring closer to how I think of LJ, light tan/black mouth, but he needs the ML tuning fork. Neither are perfect, but that’s why Thingiverse can have Bulldog .stl’s…. A LOT of the Hellcat figures were sacrificed to make this Crystal. I never got around to mine, tho…yet? I just snagged that Sue figure for $7, and was trying to list which head swaps she would be doing. Crystal is top of that list. Too short for Jen/Shulkie. Maybe repaint her hair and she’s Sharon Ventura? I think my spare Medusa head went to a custom Meggan? At least her new effect pieces look nice. Did you try flipping around the flat part onto her upturned open palms? And are the black -8- bands on her hair different? It looks like the “flat” hair makes an 8, while the “flying” hair has a bar between the circles? 🧐

I do agree that the pack is maybe $5 too expensive, but that's just based on current prices of standard and deluxe figures.

Great review. I’m still on the fence about the price tag on this one. I don’t know that Lockjaw is a $45 USD figure. I do really like this set though. I hope we get a redo of Medusa and Blackbolt. Those two are really showing their ages.

I'm excited for this set. It is a little more than I thought it should be but, I had a gift card so free for me. I was thinking that if people have the Mezco Lockjaw you could still use that as Lockjaw and use the one that comes with Crystal as Puppy and put it with Franklin it can be close enough. That way you can use them all. Just a thought lol.

I tried to get the Mezco one, but I was too late to get it at MSRP...and I'm not paying more. That Blackbolt is awesome though, and I wished I had both... The Mezco is obviously better, but it's not like the Legends is bad, in fact it's quite good, but you can see the advantage in the price difference.

We really do need a new Medusa and Blackbolt. I agree. They're both just lousy figures now. I'd prefer a more classic style Medusa and let's be honest...has there ever been a character that deserves a second head more than her? You've got to do a regular hair falling behind her head and, naturally, an "attacking" hair head. Blackbolt's wings permanently stick out behind his head are so irritating too.

And I'll just throw this in😮 articulated jaw would have worked more aggressive facial features on lockjaw could have been brought into play😅 and it would take a little effort add sculpting and probably a different price tag😅 but a articulated facial figure jaw on crystal or any other action figure for that matter😂😂😂 would really put the ice cream on the cake😂😂😂 I'll take 50 lumps with my cup of tea😅😅😅😊😊😊

I don't see how articulated front legs would change the figure. He can stand, sit, and stretch out his legs because they articulate at the shoulder and paws. I don't see how bending his legs is a deal breaker.

I'm not planning on having the whole Inhuman Family, but Crystal and Medusa are more closely related to the FF, so they make sense in my display. The head swap with Sue was convincing. And Lockjaw looks as good as the Mezco one IMO, maybe cuter LOL

I wish I liked the digital print tech face painting as much as everyone else does because it never looks good to me. It makes the figures look old it makes them look fuzzy it makes them look weird and as much as the factory hand painted face paints back in the day would be sloppy sometimes, they at least didn’t look blurry lol

I think it’s because I zoom in to much, the Reality is nobody is looking at there collection through a magnifying glass everyday. I genuinely think on display at a normal viewing distance they are much nicer then the factory paint can ever achieve at the volume legends are produced. I definitely understand everyone had a preference however 🙏🏻 thanks for the comment

I see your point. I mostly like them, but sometimes they turn out a bit too realistic. Some even remind me of people I know, which is a bit unsettling LOL The uncanny valley, you know. I cannot wait! I have been petitioning Marvel Select to make a Lockjaw so long. I skipped Mezco. I cannot wait! Crystal looks good. Lockjaw is glorious! Love it! I will be painting a mustache on my copy. He has been portrayed more as a pet or companion lately. He’s a founding member of Pet Avengers. Hasbro make Throg. Just do it! Pack him in a two pack with Enchantress and Executioner. Pack him in with a new Loki. Pack him in with a new Thor. Make Throg! Then we’ll just need updated Red Wing and Niels. I want a complete Pete Avengers team… yeah I guess more Inhumans like Gorgon and Triton and updated BB and Medusa. But really the Pet Avengers…

Think I'll be keeping my Mezco on my Royal Family display. I've got a nice Gorgon and Triton customs to fill the gap until Hasbro puts out some official one's. The Mezco looks much more realistic and I enjoy the sculpting on him more as well. The Legends is ok, but the shiny plastic is a bit off putting for me and I think the Mezco is the more detailed of the 2. I'll find a place for the Legends in my collection, it just won't be with my Royal Family.

Dan, you are my HERO for comparing this new Lockjaw to the Mezco Lockjaw! I think the Mezco looks better in a vacuum, but I'm sticking with the Marvel Legends because of the multiple expressions and the aesthetic will also fit in better with my big Marvel Legends collection

Better female updated bucks, and yet Hasbro settled on using the old Shriek body. Also the Lockjaw accessory looks very cheap, it almost looks like an almost complete reuse from the previously released Lockjaw from the 3 3/4 exclusive pack. Definitely not worth the almost $80 price. Thanks for the great review, as usual!

As the Inhumans are - due to an awful show, a failed takeover of the X-Men-franchise and the fact that they weren't a good idea in the first place (Kirby-stuff ... like Eternals ... nuff said) as dead as a dodo, all slightly popular inhumans are rebranded mutants (Ms. Marvel) and even the Karnak figure is still sitting on the pegs (and is looking moronic BTW), it's not Medusa/Black Bolt/Maximus we need to complete a team, we need Hairball, the Mighty Throg and an updated Redwing (the last was from ToyBiz) to complete the far more popular Pet Avengers. 2 Std. Easy pass on this overpriced set. All of you deep pockets collectors are killing any new younger collectors because how many 14 to 18 year old collectors can afford to spend near $225 for 8 figures to complete a wave? And if they want to do all of the two packs or Felix figures that connects to or finishes off a set they have to spend $45 to $90 so now you talking $350 to $400 for possibly between 10 to 12 figures , can you pompous, internet money fed people explain how new younger collectors are to stay interested in collecting when what you are talking about is a car payment, college tuition, date money? You are the reason the hobby is slowly dying. And you can be in denial if you like, but in 4 years how much will this hobby come crashing down.
