I've hated the fact that the Maesters laughed at the existence of White Walkers, Dragons, and The Children when they're supposed to acknowledge the fact that they have existed in the far past.
@PatchesNjose7 жыл бұрын
+Aaron Hernandez I don't blame them for not believing in the WW or the children. Unlike the dragons there isn't much physical evidence to prove their existence.

I think it's more than reasonable to wanna wait for real evidence before doing anything drastic. They're acting like critically thinking scientists should act.

Game of thrones season 7, or: How I stopped worrying and loved the fanservice

"They should have locked a body in a cage and waited for it to turn" - Jon tries this exact thing in ADWD and they never wake up. It seems that one of the Others needs to actively decide to reanimate a body. Of course there is still no need to capture a Wight since Cersei has nothing to offer them and Dany can simply take King's Landing at any time.

Maybe Jamie's plot armor is what the lannister's had Gendry working on?

Have you ever considered a career in GoT theory videos? :P
@bolloggfisch11007 жыл бұрын
I don't think killing someone and waiting for them to turn would work since their reanimation is completely controlled by the Night King...and even if they would turn I think he could easily see what they are doing and shut them down...but then again their plan wouldn't work, either...hm...but he kept those two Night's watchmen back in season 1 dead until they were brought through the wall. So, he does seem to have control over who and when to reanimate

I want to like this season. I really do. There are certainly a few good moments, but from start to middle now, it's been almost purely fanservice and uncharacteristic writing. I know the lack of a book to base this all off of seriously hinders the show's ability to advance the plot in a cohesive way, but it's honestly baffling that this season has been so poorly paced and forced. I mean, the writers have, in the past, made several changes that deviate from the books, and actually work better in the show. I just don't see that happening here. Season 7 so far feels like 6 episodes worth of the Dorne storyline.

Yeah I'm with on Gendry... I'm so damn glad to have a Baratheon back!!! I'm a HUGE Baratheon supporter. I wish we could've had mya stone... The whole thing with the Tarly's bothered me.. Tarly was so worried about the strength of his line, and he let his strong male heir burn. That whole reason Sam was sent to the wall for.
@Samaru1637 жыл бұрын
I'd say I'm with you for the most part, but the good moments for you would also just be OK for me. While I love that we have a Baratheon back, the fan-service was too much. As for Danny and the Tarly's, I don't like it because it's pretty much made Randal a useless character on the show. Since they cut out all his actions from the book, all he does is berate his son over dinner, betray the Tyrells, and now die. It all feels like a waste of character so that Sam can most likely become the new lord of Horn Hill, because Night's Watch vows mean shit in the show now.

Personally, I think the argument between Arya and Sansa is more for Baelish than an actual argument, trying to show that there is a rift between them that he can exploit. Remember they weren't actually in private, the door to the room was open during the entire argument. This makes Arya's spying on Baelish later make much more sense, because why would she be spying on Baelish as herself rather than as someone else like she did at the Twins. Admittedly, it would have been better for the writers to have at least had someone seen during, before or right after the argument, such as having the girl we see Baelish with later being sent off on a task by Sansa just as Arya enters the room.

*Sigh* King Robert was right :\ Well, we have work to do... *Grabs a kite shield, grabs a stag helmet, grabs an oversized warhammer, jumps on a huge destrier* "Ours is the furry!!!" *Charges at Danny, smashing her chest in and watching the light fades from her eyes* "Mission accomplished, king Robert. Robert: "Good. Now get read of kingslayer, Arya Stark, the Imp, Sam Tarly, Jon Snow and Baelish. They have no more hope in this show". The Arya stuff... And the other things... Well, I never liked Anime that much :| Season 7 is way worse than I thought it would be. So right now, it's 5>6>7 for me. Hated the 3 of them but at least season 5 still had some of king Stannis.
@alexhodgkinson67187 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, we're supposed to disagree with Arya. She's very young, and grew up with an entitled sister who couldn't be more different to her. She came back to Winerfell for Jon and got Sansa. I mean, just put yourself in her shoes for a minute. Of course she's not being diplomatic; everything she's saying is out of spite for Sansa, trying to undermine her and make her feel bad. She sees Sansa as the enemy. And she's young. You can't put your own judgement on all of them and expect them to act as you would act. They're not all diplomatic and wise like Olenna. Arya is a child with no understanding politics and a deep resentment of he sister. It'd be out of character for her to understand Sansa. She needs time to think it over and see the progress Sansas made.

About the executing a deserter, I'm not sure that would work. The wights may be mindless zombies but the Night King and his white walker comrades are clearly intelligent beings that wouldn't fall for it.

It would also be nice to see more clarification on the R+L marriage post-annulment, but I have to say, Jon hasn't done anything with the dragons and it looks to me like Dany will still be the ruler. Jon being a Targaryen seems pretty useless at this point (at least in the show).

EPISODE 6 SPOILER: Not as hard as Donal Noy, I mean, Donal not only built Robbert's hammer, but he also crafted the finest plot armor for Jon Snow to survive episode 6

Gendry thing was so bad. Forced fan service. And even if he have some purpose at the end they should have done it better. This feels like it was first thing comming to their mind, how to get him back. Also, he loves hes Baratheon father so much? WTF? Father he never saw and that never bothered to see him or even remembering he exists? And whole life he lived next to him. Whole season is lazy and fan service writing. Long time ago fighting had dose of realism. 3 fighters will take one awesome fighter. Now, all named characters are superheroes.

I feel like the whole petty argument crap between Sansa and Arya just existed to give the viewers a bait and switch for Littlefinger's death. I'll admit, I did like that scene a lot, but a lot of the build up to it was just... baffling.

Given that the High Septen of the faith was still letting the Royal family marry Brothers to sisters & other close kin forbidden to every one else , saying they could not get an annulment on a whim just because we can not in this day & age is not realistic !

I never understood the reason behind the annulment. Weren't Targaryens known for having more than one wife from time to time? Just make Lyanna the second wife.
@alexhodgkinson67187 жыл бұрын
Disagree with your Sam assessment very much. When he left Castle Black, he was still following what others told him, trying to earn approval from his family and thinking he needs to earn others' respect through becoming a maester. Through his journey, and through lots of help from Gilly and how she's been treated by his family and himself, he's realised that he only needs to approve of himself and doesn't need titles and his family's love and admiration. He's done doing what everyone else says and being too scared to speak his mind. His character progression has been one of the best of all the character in the show recently, in that he has progressed. I feel as though you're looking for how he serves the story, but I'm not even sure what that means. In film and TV classes I've always been taught the line 'the characters serve the story', but in my opinion the best pieces of media have been the ones where the story serves the characters. Characters get thrust into a world or chaos where the equilibrium has been broken and must adjust and adapt and become better, or worse. Sam has gradually progressed from a timid boy trying to earn everyone's approval and become important to those around him, to a man who now just strives to do what's best and approves of himself. Jon and Gilly are very important to his story as they treated him with respect and valued him as he is, which was a foreign concept to him previously. Of course this is just my analysis and, honestly, I just thought of half of this on the spot, but I feel as though this is the episode where he wants to go and make a difference; for himself. Him losing his temper with Gilly like that was a first, and that's when it clicked that he wasn't doing the right thing. Considering he's possibly the only character who's made any big progress this season, I'd say you're doing him a disservice.
@noahorakwue26537 жыл бұрын
Danzie I think your being to hard on HBO over the annulment thing cause the rules for it have changed a lot throughout history especially among nobility. For example, during the "War of the Roses" which this show was partially inspired by Richard the third had the marriage between his older brother king George and queen Elizabeth the first after he died so he can become king even though the two had at least three children together.
@DanzieReviews7 жыл бұрын
Oh, I understand how it works, and would even be fine with the idea if done right. My concern is more that they are going to go "lol annulment" and not actually give us any details.
@noahorakwue26537 жыл бұрын
I suspect that to most fans the rules for annulment would be boring exposition who aren't fanatics like us. Plus, GRRM could still provide details in the future books.
