Apparently, Jim Bowen had his choice of the female contestants before the show, to show his gratitude afterwards, he'd normally give them a canteen of cutlery, and a decanter, from Bully's prize board. my mum appeared on the show in 1984, and although she never won anything, a glass decanter suddenly appeared in our thophy cabinet.

Interesting how they're announced (as are some Welsh contestants in a full 1982 episode on here) as being from "Harlech". The West of England & Wales franchise had changed its name from Harlech to HTV in 1970!
