You are one of the few channels that use the blade guard on your table saw footage. I appreciate you showing that.

Many channels claim they remove for the filming. I believe that but it also seems like more work to take it off and back on later. I think it’s a toss up for viewers and we decide what to do anyway. Table saws are scary when I think of the suddenly violent force that can happen. That’s enough for me to think about ways to cut the safest way possible. Really comfortable with standard cuts with the blade only up past the teeth to minimize burn.

Thank you very much for this great article and the great content. I find many of the steps in the process very exciting and are done the same way all over Europe. There is a big difference that in Europe it is not allowed to work with gloves on rotating machines. That means that hand shoes are not allowed to be worn on drilling machines, circular saws, table saws, electric planes, banks, thicknesser planes or whatever else is available. Also in case of an accident the insurance would not pay here. But in principle the work is absolutely identical. Well, how could it be different if you work with wood. And we do not have to reinvent the degree every time. I think it's really exciting how you have worked in the inlays for the clamps with the cnc milling machine. That inspired me a lot. But unfortunately I don't have such a big cnc milling machine at home. A great job and great furniture that was built here. I love your content and am already looking forward to the next affectionate greetings from Germany (Europe)

I'm only a hour or two south of you guys. I'm not sure you will find much use for the coat and jumpsuit unless you are working in a freezer. I didn't even need my big coat all of last Winter. LOL Good to be prepared in case we have a new ice age though. Love the bench.

I confess it was a bit of a shock to see you place the slab on the CNC to bore dogholes and mortises. I have no issues with using CNC machines...I just didn't expect to see it in your video on building a joiner's bench. Beautiful bench, btw.

Why not just use a countersunk bolt to secure the top to the frame tenon, so that when it gets beat up you can refinish the surface with the CNC?

I like my workbench, hate the tool tray. It constantly gets filled with sawdust, chips, lost pencils, etc--almost like a sewer, very annoying. I intend to remove the "tray" someday but not an easy job
@sierrabianca

Might it have been a better option to refrain from gluing the top to the frame so that when it needs re-flattening/cleaning up you could just pop it off and run it through the planer?
@darbinorvar
@darbinorvar 3 жыл бұрын
It's part of the rigidity of the whole unit. Easy enough to hand plane if necessary.
