Dare to break-in Porsche... on THE Nordschleife? Our New 992 GT3 RS.

In recent years it feels like Porsche can't do no wrong, producing one epic GT car after the other, so our expectations about this car were really high! The only problem was that before we could fully enjoy it, the 'boring' procedure of breaking in the drive-train had to be completed. But when you have the world's coolest race track in your back yard, break in miles don't have to be boring!

Yes I kind of did the same thing with my new Porsche, I drove laps on Ring keeping revs below 4,000 rpms. Nice moderate interesting laps. I tried to go faster once the Boxster was Run-In. The Ring is Fun.

What a machine. During break-in, does the transmission keep the revs below a certain level automatically to present over-revving?

If you want a race car get a Cup car, if you want the best cross over NA Porsche make get the 991.2 GT3 RS and if you want the most fun get the 718 GT4 RS. Moreover, on slow and medium paced tracks its no quicker than the 992 GT3 on the same tires. If the 992 GT3 is on Cup2 R and the 992 GT3 RS is on Cup2 the 992 GT3 will be quicker. Frankly this is more of a show piece car highlighting Porsche technical excellence, which of course is outstanding. But real world, brutal spring rates, rack ratio and very high section widths will make this a poor proposition for many rural B and C roads in UK/CAN/US/AUS.
