He was so close too. A couple feet more and he would have survived I think. I crashed the same exact way last year on the ski slopes off a 25ft jump... I survived obviously but was injured for months and my whole arm ripped out of my torso. RIP and condolences to the family. What pisses me off in retrospect, is that there's really no technological need to have the knuckle of a jump (where he died) shaped that way with that material. Rather than have an up-sloping death-mound of dirt, why can't they use a foam pit short of the landing's sweet spot?

The report mispronounced "Knievel" with a silent "K" . . . the "K" is not silent! On a related note, Evel Knievel acknowledged on most of his failed stunts he knew his chances weren't that great of succeeding but he went and did them anyway because he didn't want to disappoint the crowd. That's what these guys do. Evel was just a little more fortunate than Alex Harvill. R.I.P. (You gave the crowd and your fans a show, regardless.)

I live in the same area as Alex. He leaves behind his beautiful wife, Jessica two sons Willis and Wesson, the youngest being a month old, his oldest is 4 years old, his parents Jeff and I don’t know his Mom’s name. This has been a complete shock in our community! This young man of 28 years has left an amazing legacy behind. They have started a go fund me, for Jessica and the boys. Rest In Peace, Alex Harvill.

Rewatching, I can see how she could come across as just being very proud of her profession, haha, (and for the devil's advocate, maybe she inwardly wanted to name check her profession [esp after their work during this pandemic] to bolster her standing and credibility before a national audience). Consider this though; depending on where and what type of nursing she does, she very may well have seen a lot of physical trauma injuries, maybe even some that messed with her head, to be frank. Seeing the accident from afar, she may very well have better understanding of what variety of traumatic injuries he's suffered, along with what it may look like up close in the for those who were trying to save his life, because she herself has visceral memories of what treating similar victims looked, sounded and smelled like. Health care workers (including EMTs) get exposed daily to a lot of the harsh realities of life, the fragility of it in the very least.
