Get the stage 1 e30 tune. I just tried it out for the first time the other day and it's awesome! I just stepped down from a FBO Vortex XL e30 setup for smog reasons, and the is20 has a lot more punch than I thought. I don't feel like I'm missing anything even though I'm down almost ~200whp.

Thanks for making this video! It’s exactly what I was looking for. I have a 2019 (mk7.5) GTI rabbit and I’m planning on getting an EQT stage 1 with the Cobb AP, but also heard good things about APR stage 1. I thought I read somewhere that the clutch on the mk7.5’s is the same clutch on an R, not sure if that’s true, but if so, the clutch should be able to handle the load from a stage 1 tune no problem (Fingers crossed). I’ve already installed an MST Performance turbo inlet pipe & intake tube, plus I “modified” the stock airbox. I’m also running pilot sport S tires which are amazing! I think the EQT tune is going to pair perfectly with these mods. Can’t wait! Your video was very helpful.

Looking into doing APR Stage 1 Low Torque on my manual 2019, how's your clutch holding up?
@davidbugarin6 ай бұрын
@@maanchuu5330 I actually (finally) got the Cobb AP with the stage 1 93 EQT tune, if you can believe that. I’m going to install it end of the month, and I’ll post a video about it next month, so lookout for that. However, as long as you know how to manage your clutch, simply don’t be stupid with it, I’ve heard people ride the stock clutches with stage 1 tunes for a long time. I drive quite “spiritedly”, but am sure to take care when changing gears, rev matching, etc. I’m super excited for the tune though!
@maanchuu53306 ай бұрын
@@davidbugarin Ah okay haha. How many miles are on your car? Mine is a 2019 at 68k, got it used though so about 35k of those were from the previous owner which makes it a little sketchier.
@davidbugarin6 ай бұрын
@@maanchuu5330 so, I’m the original owner, and I only have 33k miles on it, which is wild now that I think about it. So long as you’re keeping up with your recommended maintenance schedule, and nothing is broken, that’s still pretty good mileage for your 5 yr old GTI. Prefect time for a tune! I also considered APR’s stage 1 but ultimately decided to go with EQT.

@@DArias "You know, I'm good with the better power. I think I'll keep it like this and be satisfied." Then he says, "You know, I'm kind of thinking of taking the next step, I want more power." Installs the upgrades and gets more power. "This is awesome, I get the roller-coaster feeling in my stomach." "You know, I was going to stay with that stage and run that power. But I got to thinking, I really want to upgrade to the next level, really want to see what the platform is capable of." Installs the next power level. And so on. And so forth. Next thing, Golf owner looks around the internet seeing who's actually tapped out the AE888 who had the engine built. "I was sitting at great power, lot of fun, really shoves you hard when you get on it, but I think I want to take the next step and open the engine and build it. Put in forged parts and a truly big turbo." And so it goes. Meanwhile, a 750cc motorcycle still turns out low 10 second quarter mile from factory, stock. Haha It's no different in the V6 and V8 worlds, with guys that build their cars to be monsters, just that you're dealing with a higher potential for power to start with and going into stupid-power zones. Finding places to actually exploit that power is more and more difficult if you care about a driver's license, zero-point record with law enforcement, low insurance rates, all the rest.

You are worrying to much about your clutch. It is only a stage 1 you have to really abuse it over time to start having clutch slip. People have had stage 2 original clutch and it has last for a year or more depending on how they drive or how much. Hang on to the original clutch as long as you can then replace it when you feel the slip. I have had EQT stage 1 for a bit over a year on my manual GTI. But then again I do not abuse my clutch just some spirited driving and pulls occasionally.

Yes ! I’m hoping my clutch treats me well it’s still my daily so I’m not gonna rip it around everywhere some pulls here and there. I’ve seen both sides of it.
