To be fair, Wolfe missed his first 2 P-blades with Groudon, hitting only his 3rd and final one of Game 1. The least important one of that game. Not sure why Andrew was thinking so hard, given that he had such a pretty convincing momentum going with his Intimidate cycle and the Rillaboom to scare out Gastrodon support.

@igonnawrecku2 жыл бұрын
I actually don’t believe that was a read, but rather covering all options. As we saw the previous turn, max phantasm did about 30% through protect, meaning it does 120% without protect. Because of the stab boost on phantasm, Rockfall would do about 80% normally, and considering Rillaboom was at 70% after the phantasm, that was a guaranteed knockout on Rillaboom as well. It was a great play by Wolfe to be able to see every possible scenario and choose the move that covered all of them

how does timer work? shouldnt andrew win bc he has more hp?
@scotttalley32402 жыл бұрын
It seems like there's an overall timer of 20 minutes and a personal move selection timer of 7 minutes for each player. If the overall timer runs out, then the winner is decided on knockouts and HP differentials. If one of the players' individual move selection timers runs out, that player immediately loses. What happened in game one was that the game clock was just about done, but Andrew's personal selection clock ran out right before that and he lost.
@Rubenlostit2 жыл бұрын
What Scott said. Wolfey keeps track of how much time it takes for his opponents to make decisions and knows how yo play the timer to his advantage.

Why? I think its kinda healthy for competitive in terms of if Pokemon needs to have a gimmick. It’s definitely the most balanced gimmick we’ve had in Pokemon.
@VersacePokemon2 жыл бұрын
@@Rubenlostit I don’t think Pokémon needs a gimmick, but if it must, I’d argue megas is the most balanced (with a few exceptions like mega rayquaza, which are banned) Also, out of the 3 “gimmicks” dynamaxing is the least cool thematically and visually. “The Pokemon gets big” is a dumb concept. But that’s just my personal opinion.
@Rubenlostit2 жыл бұрын
@@VersacePokemon Megas were pretty unhealthy, especially when you look at ones like Mega Kanghaskhan or Mega Gengar that just dominated the format for a while. And then Unrestricted Megas/Primals were just a mistake entriely. Dynamax does a good thing by keeping all of the moves consistent, they always have the same effects. The problem with gen 8 is the imbalance of Pokemon’s stats, like Zacian and Regieleki existing
@DuskDawnVGC2 жыл бұрын
I think they won't remove it but I have to agree that it's quite bad compared to mega evo

How did he win because of time is it by health points ??
@c.m.93692 жыл бұрын
There are two timers: The overall game timer and the timer each player has to select their moves. If the game timer runs out, then things like HP and pokemon remaining will determine the winner. However, if your individual timer runs out, you just lose, no matter what the situation on the board is. In that first game, Andrew‘s timer ran out slightly before the game-timer. Meaning, he has spent waaaay more time selecting his moves and making his choices than Wolfe.

While the other one goes "You pointed that one though." and she answers back "I know." - Around the 30 minute mark, one of them says that the defense drop is better for Groudon than the Incineroar then the other one shuts her off by saying that the Groudon has already been knocked out.
