I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. If I ever have the opportunity to meet Darius I’d love to buy him a beer and shoot the breeze for 1/2 an hour or so. No photo needed just the privilege of his company. What a legend .

Anyone who grew up in the 90s and did not like Hootie and the blowfish needs to hear this version of this song. Darius was and still is one of the greatest singer/song writers of our generation. Amazing

Their nickname in the 90s, was "Hooter and the Blowjob". I never cared for his style; now I can't stand that whiny fool and his music after the way that he disrespected the very state that helped him succeed in his career. Then, recently, he was arrested on a drunk driving charge here in Tennessee. That asshole could have killed someone that night! He's nothing but a selfish clown and a joke.

I met Darius through his voice, this song, and a gang named Hootie in a computer class in 93. A bunch of young black kids listening to a love song over a country twang. It wasn't the cool thing to do, but my 15 yr old self was in instant love. 30 years later and my 45 yr old self is thanking that kid for not moving along with the crowd.

Saw Hootie when they opened up for Toad the Wet Sprocket in 1995. They were just starting to become popular. Toad was my fav band so I was front & center & got backstage passes & met all the blowfish, along with the Toad guys. Sadly, Darius wasn’t there. But he was right in front of me when he sang this song, which was my fav at the time. Still have it on my phone today.
