Whoever designed the sprue for the trolls did a great job at fitting them all on while using minimal space.

Nuce review. The details came out nice. For ligvt colors like this, giving the minis a bit of wash can bring out the details on camera. But worked out fine here. Looking forward to binge your channel, too few talk small scales!

I’ve been looking for a way into fantasy wargaming from sci fi and I think I know what I’m doing now! Great vid btw

Ah, the trolls look great! I was about to buy them not too long ago, but went for some of the other sets in the line. Might have to reconsider it. Keep it up!

Definitely get the trolls, they add such a menacing vibe to the table. And thanks 🙏🏽

These are from an Eastern European country, copyright means nothing to them, some of these are practically pantographed down versions of GWs Uruk-Hai and Olog-hai figures. The swords give it away. Fun figures, but I can't do these in 1/72, got too much to paint as it is, lol!

I’m at the point of no return lol. My 28mm doesn’t hit the table too often these days.

@@tablesaltgames I feel ya dude, I went with 1/72 to play Bolt Action, more options and cheaper!

Do you remember the scene, when Saruman lead the charge of ward riders during the Battle of Helm's Deep? Wasn't it cool?

This is a good alternative. Since GW ups the prices for the old Lotr line. And the new stuff looks ass. Some wor with these and I think one is up for some wargaming.

Do they feel rubbery? Are they trouble to paint? I have some Zvezda models that are hard plastic but they have to be assembled, I really like how Dark Alliance ones are already put together.
@tablesaltgames Жыл бұрын
They are not as rubbery as most board game minis, but they are soft plastic. I like these because they have enough bulk to them that they don't feel like they're going to shatter into pieces if I were to drop one... as for painting, I've had better luck not priming them. The one set I did prime flaked, but it could have been the primer.

This was a nice review, but I think it would be more useful if you could compare the minis to other figures in 1/72 and 28mm scales. There seems to be a significant amount of flash on these figures and mounting on a secondary base seems required.
@tablesaltgames Жыл бұрын
I’ll look at doing that in the future. And yes, these have noticeable more flash then others sets from RedBox
@crapparc Жыл бұрын
They remind me of Reaper's stuff which you don't have to prime. Have you tried slapping on paint without primer?
@tablesaltgames Жыл бұрын
Yes, I actually prefer not to prime them. The first few set I primed lost considerable detail after prime and painting. Take that with a grain of salt

Cool figures.

How do they stack up against the games workshop ones?
@bugfighter59492 ай бұрын
They're smaller, works well for things like wargs and trolls but humans wont match for example.
@mhovar1012 ай бұрын
@@bugfighter5949 yeah I bought a few to see. I might multibase them and use them for sword point or something
