As the war for the Thramas sector raged, many worlds were lost to the Emperors light, both at the hands of the sons of the Night Haunter in absolute fear and wanton bloodletting, and in retribution by the sons of the Lion against those worlds that bent the knee in service to Horus and his cause. So many times did the Angels of Caliban and Nostramo come into conflict and no records survived the apocalyptic clash of post-human warriors as the worlds of Thramas burned. Who will be victorious in this battle? Will loyalty win out over deceit? Will treachery triumph over honour? Or will the laughter of thirsting God's drown out the screams of the innocent...
Tom brings his Dark Angels for the first time against Kai and his Night lords! They pick a great mission from the old black books and twist it slightly for this edition.

You're correct about leadership, although if the weapon has pinning it still causes pinning checks

@@RiftForgeStudio lads I’ve gone back and read this rule a few times. Reactions do not ‘cause leadership tests due to casualties inflicted’. Morale checks and pinning checks both come under this category as a type of leadership test. My reading is therefore that reactions don’t cause pinning checks. Am I misreading this!?

We are just having a read through it and debating it. As we can see what you are saying about a leadership test as pinning test ask you to take one. But under the pinning rule it eludes to being able to be pinned on the charge and it's an auto fail.

Jesus, that one Night Lord contemptor was a beast. He killed how many enemy dreads? I'd mark him and give that model a little something special. As for that one unit of terror marines rhat spent the entire fight running, give them the crimson gauntlets to mark their failure

@@christophbeckmann7281 specifically melee dreads honestly. a leviathan can and will take a (weakened) primarch deathstar apart. thats just obscene. a deredeo can feasibly stay in the game for turns on end even if it is targetted frequently

@@pablosturm6640 but you pay good points for a levi and they are slow. contemptors being dirt cheap for what they bring is the main outlier.

@@GypsyDaengerso are cataphractii. and breachers. all of which are hard countered by a leviathan. just reduce the armour saves of all dreads except leviathan to 3+ and reduce toughness of all dreads except castra ferrum by -1. Also remove instant death invulnerability.

When the night lords contemptor was in vonbat woth jusy yhe delegatus and Cenobium preceptor he should have hit on 5s as the preceptor is WS6 and when taking majority WS you take the highest if there are equal numbers. Would have saved the preceptor. Great game and lovely armies.

Great game!, Lovely armies! That being said, four dreads at 2500 points is a bit much. A good houserule is to limit them to 1 per 1000 points, so at 2500 you would only be "allowed" 2 dreads.
