I am not a player, but I truly enjoy doing models, so I have been building / painting a lot of 40k. I received my first titan (warhound) yesterday. For a second I thought one of the songs was Red Warszawa - Technoparty. That paint job is great and the use of the printed material was great! Did you use some special kind of paper for that process?

Thank you :) yea i printed the side emblems on either side, the checker squares on the one leg armour along with a small tribal version of the a aquila from the dark angels lore and the art on the other leg armour. it was done using water slide transfer paper that i printed on with a ink jet and varnished before transfering it to the model. I was actualy asked this the other day and i put a video up about how i did it. Hope it helps :)

Thank you 😊 ikr the cost is the biggest issue these days for something like this, I would of preferred if they chose to move to plastic by now and dropped the price. Not to mention especially on these older models their moulds aint great parts needing repair straight out the box let alone cleaning the residue from the mould release etc its alot of prep but once all that is in place and you got all the materials and tools its great to build

Hey man, nice build. What blew me away was the cables. What did you use for them? I've got a WH that I had to stop because the parts were too warped for me to deal with at the moment (no heat gun). I was planning to get some corrugated tubing so I could magnetise it all up exactly like you did, but the rubber cable tubing I could find was either too big, or it seemed to be made out of material that wasn't exactly flexible enough to do the job. You know you'd bend the weapon into the right place but it would end up bouncing right back out of position because it was too rigid.

Well they tried to horde them but different houses joined either side some were still with different fleets. Like the dark angels were known to have with them all sorts of devastating stuff even warhounds have been mentioned, plus other that that I've always wanted to paint one up in there heraldry

Heck I'm looking at the Dornian Hersey (flipping the loyalist and traitorous legions) and that looks amazing, still wondering which is more Grimdark, the official Gams Workshop version or the Fannon Alternative Heresy.

To follow or not follow canon is up to the person not others. The canon and lore is there as guide lines for people to use as they wish be it factually correct or about tacos. The hobby as a whole always encouraged making it your own so saying that there is no right or wrong. I started fresh not long ago I been doing up army's to sell and use up stock to sharpen my skills (I even done a monster energy space marine army 😅) but as for my own i wanted to bring old and past dark angels forces into one 40k fleet so that included a warhounds.

Azrael surelly approves, but the Adeptus Titanicus isn't too happy about that. When I built one 15 years ago, a parrot chewed on the piston ball joints on the hips when I was building it. I don't have the warhound anymore as I sold it but the parrot is still full of destruction in his hearth (healthy).

@@MasterChaplainAddanc They used to sell it, mine came with a Lucius Pattern mega bolter, I didn't ask FW for a replacement (I should have) and just built up some mars pattern armour on it. Guess they didn't want to have two model in stock after a while. Back when I played it, it mostly got one-shotted by lousy rules. (For exemple, a eldar aircraft could be both inside and outside of your void shield at the same time)

But I will be keeping my eye out for one at the right time as I do see one every so often just wish they would do a one of those runs for a coupe of weeks like they have on gw's store. Awesome questions, firstly the mural is a water slide transfer i printed with my ink jet printer I have a video on this up on my channel as well as a video on how I made the hoses 😃 lastly the pin the pin was a thing I added for abit of security when moving it. I found a suitable steel pin and inside the hole right at the back as deep as it will go is a couple I magnets hidden away so It will keep the pin from falling out even tho the waist is magnetised lol hope that helps thank you for your interest 😊

Thank you 😊 I used a 30cm at a thickness of 6mm, I got mine from www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MDF-or-Ply-Circle-10cm-to-80cm-Ideal-for-gaming-forge-world-warhammer-titan-etc-/273996637053?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286 It's a great model to work on I have 2 videos on my channel 1 is about making flexible hoses for the head and guns, the other is how I did the art via printer so they are there if you need them. 😊

Lol I get my chaos wolf hound tomorrow and am looking forward to working on it, although I know my paint work will not be half as good as yours... Then again its chaos, so a crap paint job is kinda standard. Question, I have seen a lot of people pinning the core body together, for me it makes sense to pin the legs for extra support, but do you think its necessary to pin together the body itself? I mean J-B weld is meant for metal body work, I cant imagine resin needing more support than steel... But I might he wrong.

Jb weld is very strong and the model does weigh quite abit plus the resin forge world uses has all sorts of issues but alot of the join locations are questionable. The way the model is the head is very far forward pinning it helps alot with the strain, and the side vents are very chunky and heavy and alot of strain would be to the rear center engine part. Its almost like building a box with a U shape and 3 lines lol with the cost of the model I just went for safer rather than sorry, I've seen a smashed warhound before yea helped pin that mess back together.... Jb weld I used for strength and the quick curing I just like using it for alot of jobs and I had alot here so plus like I said before for the cost these are id rather go with strength over anything but it my personal preference to use jb weld.

Thats correct i made the decals myself i got a video on this on my channel, the black stuff is J-B Weld KwikWeld Epoxy very strong and have a short but not to short work time. Hope that helps 😃

@@holdencross5904 focus can be a hard thing even with motivation, intimidation can also be a factor especially seeing work by others so easily can be demoralising. Me I aim for what I'm happy with understanding that I could go higher but at what cost, for focus I like getting in the Grove either looking up or listening lore or audiobooks on what I'm trying to accomplish and in turn helps focus on the job in hand. Being motivated tho can be effected by loads of stuff I have anxiety and depression but twitter has really helped me with that and now on here everyone's taken notice of my videos recently and the feedback does push me to do more. Focus tho don't force it try and encourage through stuff easy to manage like audio or video, if you force it then it won't be a good experience. 👍

I’m on the early stage of building and I’ve seen you use some stuff I don’t have. Can you tell me what glue you used, what magnet and everything that would help me a lot. 😁

If its small magnets for the cables I go through it on a video I've made on my channel on the piping i done on it, the 3 glues I used was jb weld qwik weld, super glue in places and for the slate stone and sand on the base i used pva. Hope that helps 😊

But this is for my own mixed force that I'm going to be doing which resembles the 30k fleet's but instead all in 40k dark angels heraldry and current army lists. hey, working on my own warhound right now and was wondering what your using to drill those really nice smooth holes for the magnets on the head and top plate? from what ive looked at drill bits that diamater have tips that would just go through the panel before fulling making the hole.

Hello great question i actualy use a ceramic grinding stone drill bit on a shank for dremel / hobby drill. Its very easy to drill into so using one for these bits gave me a smoother finish. i use the more cylinder ones rather than the bullet shapes as it gives me a better shape heres a link to the kinda thing im on about if you are unfamilair hope it helps. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223634434258

Thank you 😊 Nope I did use a airbrush for the caliban green on the armour also for tinting the ends of the barrels. Also used it for vallejo matt varnish to take the shine off the gw varnish. I could of done it without but on such large panels etc I had the stuff there so It made my life easier

The camera was set at 60fps it was set as video rather than single shots in case I wanted to use any video for anything else 😆

What's the stuff you use to 'glue' it down? some of the weld stuff and the basing rocks? is it just....rocks? :P great stuff either way

The glue is jb weld qwik weld which was for the warhound construction and sticking it and the tank to the base. The rocks how ever that was pva glue, the rocks was mainly crushed up welsh slate , then sand added in places where I wanted abit of vegetation, hope that helps. Glad you enjoyed thank you 😊

I've always wanted to do a really heavy modeled base, one that tells a story at least on the centre piece models, i've nothing bigger than a FW knight but what experimentation i've done usually went wrong in some way, the PVA didn't even seem to hold the cork, though the cork shrinking didn't help...recently discovered epoxy resin for actually holding stuff together but I think using that on rocks would get pricey

@@Amdrauder well the eva is holding everything except the titan and tank, I've used alot of pva and yes you can get very rubbish brands. The brand i use is everbuild and I didn't water it down, I've used it for loads of stuff but heres the link for you, www.amazon.co.uk/501-Universal-PVA-Bond-admixture/dp/B00NVLNFS4/ It does take longer the more you use, but it what I've always used and ive never really had a issue with it. May I suggest making a tester leave it set and put it through tests. Hope that helps 😃

Thank you 😊 Right so the magnets I used for those areas was 15mm by 3mm. I picked a thinner magnet so I'd have more control over how strong I could make it, a tip however as an extra precaution I put a thin layer of the epoxy I used (I used JP weld qwik weld) just so by accident the magnets collide I had protection but not to thick it would weaken the magnet draw. I sanded the connection points down flat for a better connection. Oh if you are thinking of swaping out or making the head and weapons move check out my video on how I did the cables might be handy.

brilliant, may i ask how you went about doing the weathering on the titan? at 9:40 it kinda look like you skipped that in the time lapse, as im presently struggling to get a dust/worn look like you have achieved on my reaver and lucius pattern warhound.

hello, yea the cameras memory filled up faster than i would of liked. But yes the weathering i used on the titan itself after being painted leadbelcher spary and air brushed with caliban green then retributor armour for edging and emblems also the piston rods was coloured lighter with a hand brushed vallejo silver model air. I than used a all over coat of nuln oil wash over it all, making sure to keep a eye out for puddles unless its what you want then it was a edge high light of necron compound over all of it. its suprising how well washes work sometimes a was agrax earthshade in places can give a oily old staine but like everything find a tester that has a varied detail level on in and colour it the same way and try the washes. One last thing the dusty/worn look also might of been helped that it was varnished after first with a can of citdiel varnish spray and then matted with vallejo matt varnish spray through a air brush to take that shiny edge off. The picture? I printed it on to transfer paper including the checkers on the other leg and the 2 emblems either side of the front body armour, I made a video about how I did it its in my videos on my channel 😀

Thanks :) Some dark angel transfers were from forge world and some of the writen text ones were from www.themightybrush.com/ and the deathwing icon on the top side carapace, the left leg pauldron artwork and the checkers off the right along with the tribal thunderbird (imperial aquila) was printed by me.

@@matticous10 inkjet printer i used, I painted the paldron white, then I used transfer transparent paper, sealed it with a couple varnish thin coats like 2 or 3. Soaked the transfer and wet down the paldron but it was quite awkward to place but I started in the middle and worked up down then middle then towards the sides getting g all the water n bubbles out. Then I just ran a blade round carefully pressing to cut rather than sliding to cut as this might move it and then once done seal it with a coat of varnish to hold it in place. I needed to darken the edges to tidy it up but it was the first this I attempted it and wasn't going to restart. The dreading symbol tho I did add dark green around emblem and printed on a non transparent transfer paper, the lip of the transfer i used a coat or two of varnish to smooth the transition so it hid to lip and painted over it and blended the to greens together again another first. Hope this helps.might have to make a vid on it as I think I still got the footage lol

Yeah i seen that one some where before looks amazing, this was my first warhound thats mine that I worked on so I wanted to do very like in modifications but I am thinking of adapting the guns with banners held by chains at some point. But as forge world this would be the Mars pattern, there's only been 3 released the other two was a armourcast one but that was proper retro back in the day im not sure if they actually made that type into lore but the other was a lucius pattern which looks awesome but hard to get now as they stopped making them a few years back.
