Nice video! I believe that the "spider web" you asked about are from dust filters. Most commonly used for vacuum cleaners, right behind the dust bag, before the air goes through the fan/impeller.

For the wood parts you used such as bark, roots, and twigs, you really should bake them before using them in terrain. Wrap them up in foil with a few pin pricks through it on the top and stick in the oven and wait until you first see smoke and pull it out. This kills a lot of the bacterial issues along with anything else that might be inside and fully dries it out so that you don't have issues with it rotting on you.

@@tiny-grimes With a lot of the videos, it is something that, probably, should be repeated when commenting about gathered material from outdoors. I've been doing it for a while with mine, but every so often, I see some new crafter or someone using stuff in basing who doesn't know and then freaks out about rotting stuff and their bases growing things over the models, forcing them to throw out expensive ones...

@@BardsCraft Dry doesn't always mean that it's cleared out the issue. Paint and such are often enough to feed some of the things that might grow inside it and then it tends to be a problem that can spread from that terrain to other things. Rot and mold being the worst things with it, then you might have any insects or such that got into it...

It's a polyfiber pad, more accurately. You can get sheets of the stuff for filtering fish tanks.

Your spider web material is cotton/polyester batting. You can buy it at fabric stores, or get it for free as a packing material surrounding small fragile items. :)

I could recommend felt wool. Bolt Action tabletop guys use these for smoke and fire. It comes in different colors and can be bought for a few bucks on ebay.

Not sure what those cob-web things are; perhaps some kind of air conditioner filter? Another thing you could use, though, is left-over dryer sheets; just pull them really thin and they look like cobwebs. Plus, for you aromatically inclined crafters, they smell nice!

In an earlier video, you mentioned how you are sometimes running out of glue sticks for your builds. This got me thinking, and tell me if it's a terrible idea, but, couldn't you dilute the pva/white glue and then dip toiletpaper or paper towels in it, and wrap it around the sticks? It should add some mass, conform to the texture of the sticks and make them more rigid, in theory at least.

I believe the material you used for the webbing is Polyfil, which is typically used for stuffing in things like pillows and stuffed animals. A dryer sheet tends to be the go to for most tabletop crafters.

I like your approach to washes. I also make mine as I go. And sometime an old one rolls into a new wash. Some, like the strong tone, are good for consistency. The recipes are different too. Sometime I add matte medium when I don’t want it to bleed and sometime alcohol to bleed.

Glad to have you here as well! I did an almost rope bridge from spruce in the Dragon's Gorge video, if I did a rope bridge I would probably just switch out the BBQ-stick (supporting the planks) to a hemp rope. I might try this one for some highly vertical terrain I'm envisioning for Frostgrave.

You can get that "mystery cobweb material" in sheets at your hardware store, one use of it is grease filter in kitchen extractor hoods.

To use dill you can also grind the dill till it's a powder then add dye or wash then dry and regrind it to get differnet colors

The webbing stuff appears to be the polyfiber stuff used in aquariums as filters. Search for: polyfiber aquarium cut to fit filter pads, or similar. It's similar to the polyfiber that Woodland Scenics makes to fill out foliage and brush on train scenery, but it's pressed into these compact sheets.

For webs, a used dryer sheet is great. takes glue and paint surprisingly well. Just pull them out of the dryer when your laundry is done. I start with unscented, so I don't know if there is a lingering smell with the scented types.

Dryer sheets can also be used to make webs. I think either wyloch or bmc used those.

I agree. I have had great results with used dryer sheets that you pull and tear apart. They are hard to glue on, but perfect once you do get them attached.

Way too thick for a dryer sheet. Plus, the smell would have told him right away what it was, since they are all scented. That's a polyfiber sheet, probably for filtering fish tanks or as a lining under the upholstery of furniture.

Okay one of three things either that bark is super soft and easy to cut number 2 that knife has + 5 sharpness and can cut through anything or you're just the strongest person in the world because I've tried cutting through bark with a knife like that and it did not go so well
