The Dark Knight Rises follows Batman’s fight against the villain Bane. Many residents of Gotham experience unfair trials and mistreatment from authorities in the name of fighting crime that have disturbing parallels in our world today. For example, many have questioned the economic and legal legitimacy of private prisons at a time of dramatically rising rates of incarceration in the United States. The film stars Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and more.
