Oh shit. Wellll time for some headcannon on why he looks the way he does! Barry's Joker is confirmed to have his signature smile due to some kind of birth defect, but the director never said anything in regards to his burns or how the rest of his body is all messed up. So here's my headcannon, Joker is caught up in some kind of chemical related accident, probably gas since it's unlikely he'd survive being dunked in acid. So Joker is exposed to a burning gas, and his entire body is disfigured by it, covering him in blisters and scars. The Joker is locked up in Arkham Asylum shortly afterward, having been arrested at the scene. He is sent to his cell, where he remains for some undisclosed amount of time, when Batman shows up to question him about the Riddler. Joker hands him his file, and Batman takes it, only he snuck out one of his paperclips with it. The Joker uses it to pick his way put, where he'll be used for a little bit in the sequel before returning to his cell, commanding from within his confinement.

@GSP-76 Жыл бұрын
Most people would dismiss this scene as just nonsense being flung by the Joker at Batman but every single word he said was 100% true. He explained the nature of the Riddler with perfection. He was also right about Batman. This was a younger Batman who called himself vengeance. He wanted criminals to fear him. He wanted them scared shitless that he may be coming for them next. The Joker knows this so he used this meeting to get at Batman's sense of identity and self-worth because he hasn't caught the Riddler and people are dying in gruesome ways. He's afraid criminals will see him as weak and maybe they don't need to worry about Batman. The Joker gave him a psych evaluation that was on the nose for both Batman and the Riddler. All within a minute of looking at a few pictures of the crime scenes. They don't give the Joker the credit he deserves. Guy is absolutely insane, scary as hell and most importantly he's highly intelligent.

It could’ve been a foundation that the producers and whatnot could’ve branched off of. I hope they do but won’t get my hopes up. Too many of the new generation drooled over the “joker” movie that came out recently. I fear that nothing will come of this due to that. Sadly, they deleted this scene for a reason. Prob because of the hype and likes for the joker shit they put out recently. We need and deserve a legit version of Batman that is as dark as the comics were. SUCH a good Joker, but I can understand why he was cut. He seems to show up right around the “DRIVE” puzzle, putting him probably very early into the movie. And, in all honesty, he kind of gives away almost all the answers to the movie when it comes to the Batman and the Riddler, instead of letting both parties (and the audience) discover it naturally through the puzzles and their interactions. It’d be great to see more of him from behind the glass again, I think the concept of this scene is ripe for execution in a future movie, and I love the idea of him talking with Batman AFTER he’s been caught, almost like a resource for him from inside of Arkham.

Agreed. As well, it would have taken focus off the narrative of the movie as people would have only went on about this one scene. I remember the ARG being the reason this scene was even found. This scene really shows just how scarily intuitive the Joker is. Just with a few glances at the case file, he's already deducted not just the identity and motive of the Riddler, but also of Batman's. Nothing specific like their names, but their inner nature and why they do the things they do. He can get inside of people's heads without even trying. It's terrifying. "Maybe he's a fan of yours?" Referring to the relationship between the Riddler and Batman. "Or maybe he's got a grudge against you too. Maybe you're the main course." Referring to the Riddler's resentment against Bruce Wayne and the Wayne family for failing to make any positive change in Gotham. "I think somewhere deep down, you're just terrified, 'cause you're not sure he's wrong." He already figures out exactly why Batman visited him. He's in control. Batman is trying to play it cool and keep a straight face, but the Joker can see right through his facade. Batman is mentally shitting bricks in that moment.

Transcript of the Joker Deleted Scene Joker: Oh, Hm. Present. Almost our anniversary, isn't it? Batman: There’s a serial killer. I want your perspective. Joker: First anniversary is papers. What makes you think I come so cheap? Batman: I thought you’d be curious. Joker: You think I get off on this stuff? Batman: Don’t you? Joker: You have pictures? [Laughs] Oooh. His violence… It’s so Baroque. Ooh, he likes little puzzles, doesn’t he? So meticulous. Like he had been planning this his whole life. I know who he is. Batman: Who? Who is he? Joker: He’s a nobody. Wants to be somebody. The Mayor, the Commissioner. Yeah. He’s got ambition. Batman: You think his motive is political? Joker: Oh no, no, no. This is very personal. He feels these people have all wronged him. Probably goes way back. Unhealed wounds, stolen lunch money. Batman: Why's he writing to me? Joker: Maybe he's a fan of yours? Or maybe he's got a grudge against you too. Maybe you're the main course. Any theories? Batman: Not yet. Joker: Really? You’re normally so ahead of the curve. But something is different this time. This is very upsetting to you. Batman: Let’s get back to him. Joker: Why? You are so much more fun. Batman: I’m not here to talk about me. Joker: What are you here to talk about? Batman: I want to know how he thinks. Joker: You know exactly what he thinks. Have you read this file? You two have so much in common. Masked avengers, huh? 'Cept he's even more righteous. Aww, you afraid he makes you look soft? [Laughs] Batman: You’re wasting my time. Joker: [Laughs] Okay, okay! I'll tell you what I really think. I think you don't really care about his motives, whether he loves or hates you. I think somewhere, deep down, you're just terrified. 'Cause you're not sure he's wrong, huh? You think they deserved it, huh? You think they deserved it! [Laughs]

I think Christopher Nolan and Matt Reeves are the only two directors to portray The Joker’s intelligence. For however insane The Joker is his intelligence makes up for it. The way he uses words like “Baroque“ or “meticulous” and is able to read Batman even when he’s wearing his mask an tell he’s angry suggests maybe he derived from an academic background but due to his deformity became secluded and read a lot, studied but driven insane by normal people around him. Society was The Vat of Acid and The Joker was thrown into it.

Mostly yeah, but I disagree with the implication that using a four-syllable word is indicative of his intelligence. Hell, I could utilize any aggregate of quadrisyllabic or even multisyllabic morphemes more or less accurately with the intention of insinuating that I am a perspicacious individual. I don’t think that means I’m smart tho, just means I know some big words. Joker’s real intelligence here is displayed, as you said, in his ability to read people, to learn everything about a person based on what little information or cues he’s given.

I like how that’s literally exactly what happens in this scene. This is a lot of fluff that really doesn’t add much. It means a lot to long standing fans of Batman and Joker who like to put their own interpretations on new portrayals. If these were two random no name characters it would be a really boring scene. What plan? The plan where Riddler kills everyone he wants, even Falcone and half the city right in front of Batman? The plan where Batman has no clue what to do without a super computer contact and a cop who has a carpenter brother? This Batman who legitimately fails at everything beat this Joker already, apparently when he was even LESS experienced, and somehow the goddamn Riddler is giving him so much trouble? This Joker has to be truly pathetic to lose to a Batman even younger and less experienced than the wannabe that was portrayed in this movie. Batman doesn’t have to be perfect, he can fail…but the man dedicated his entire adolescence to being the perfect version of himself. A year or two in he should be able to stop the goddamn Riddler. He should be able to disarm a bomb around a guy’s neck five feet away. There’s a difference between doing your job while making some mistakes and failing entirely at your job to the point any other random untrained person would’ve had the same effect. Batman has things happen to him in this movie, only towards the very end does he actually contribute anything

You can tell this version of Joker really knows how to read people and get in their heads. Batman goes to him and specifically says that he wants to know how the riddler thinks. The joker immediately understands what's driving the Riddler. It also shows his obsession with Batman because he continuously flips it on him and analyzes him instead of the riddler, to the point where Batman leaves. Needless to say, I absolutely love how they're doing this Joker, and I can already see how he'll be able to manipulate harley quinn and others

Nah Joker 1 was amazing but joker 2 was the most garbage worse movie than any other dc movie like I’d rather watch Jared Leto joker and Harley Quinn movie than joker 2💀💀

Taking on the Joker after so many iconic performances, is incredibly brave. Fortunately he nailed it and made it his own
