• Dark mode (negative contrast polarity) is light text on a dark background.
• Light mode (positive contrast polarity) is light text on a dark background.

Does Dark mode save battery
• Dark mode will not save battery in devices with LCD screens.
It is because of the backlight in the LCD.
The backlight will always produce light even when the screen is black.
• Dark mode can save battery in devices with displays like :
OLED, AMOLED, sAMOLED, POLED, etc.
Because this type of screen doesn't have a backlight like LCD screens.
These displays will turn off individual pixels to produce black colour.
So when the device is in dark mode almost pixels will be in black (which requires only less energy).

Because while using light mode our pupil contrasts. It's easy to focus on the whole thing. When you use dark mode, less light comes into your eyes, your pupil will dilate, and it's hard to focus.

Dark mode will be better for social media use, gaming, etc.
• Dark mode can cause halation for individuals with myopia or astigmatism.
