What does she mean representation for more people like me? Does she not know hollywoods history of casting light skinned biracials in films? has she not seen the girls in the music industry? wasn't the last storm also biracial? she's not a dark skinned unambiguous black woman-she's not laking in the representation department AT ALL. the fact that she even said that makes me think she's feeding into the narrative just to feel included she got that role because like zendaya-another biracial-has already pointed out they are "hollywoods acceptable version of a black girl" the gaslighting and victimization is laughable

Other than Ertha Kitt as Catwoman in the 1960s name me a black female superhero in a Hollywood film prior to Hale Berry's Storm? You can't because they didn't exist. You would know that if you invested less energy in mansplaing black female representation to black women. Yes light skinned black women have been more represented on screen than dark skinned black woman, but that's a low bar. Both groups are under represented and Alexandra is speaking *her* truth.
