He added such a sparkling element in his portrayal of Jason McGuire. I was just watching an interview with Kathryn Leigh Scott ("Maggie Evans" etc), who said Dennis Patrick was one of actors everyone loved working with, especially Joan Bennett -- and they were all delighted when he returned to play a different character (Jason's friend Paul Stoddard) later in the series. He and Larry Hagman must have been a handful on "Dallas". RIP Dennis.

Dennis Patrick was on another level as an actor on that show because, as he explained, he didn't rely on the teleprompter (he couldn't see it without glasses) so he memorized his lines and delivered them so beautifully and so convincingly. The other actors bumbled through their lines in almost every scene, constantly sneaking peaks at the teleprompter. But Patrick was amazing. I've only grown to especially appreciate his work re-watching the show recently.

God bless you all I never loved a soap till my hubby and I watched it 1st time last year now we are on 2nd time i never grow tired of it EVER!!!!! You were amazing actor I loved the accent also. He says everybody else could read off the teleprompter, but he wasn't the only one who was too nearsighted, Alexandra said she had to study hard because of her vision. Jonathan Frid also had trouble reading them.

i loved him in Dark Shadows, and it breaks my heart when I heard about his death in a house fire. Great actor!

I really miss this much beloved Actor Dennis Patrick : his a Master Talent , loved his devious iconic character(s) in DARK SHADOWS and PERRY MASON (l noticed him, nice surprise). As the devious cunning Jason McQuire DS's fame, I couldn't wait till he rubbed the wrong person/the wrong way & that was BARNABAS. Great, great chilly Episodes & scenes!! Your Magic, MR. DENNIS PATRICK and very much cherished & missed.

That was a wicked & disturbing scene of Carolyn's father Paul Stoddard played by Actor Dennis Patrick (what an incredible legendary Talent)..."dead in the Casket w/a death smile on his tortured face. Frigthening!! Awesome DS's episode.
