It’s one of Britain’s iconic seaside towns, known for its beach, pleasure piers and the imposing Blackpool tower.
But in recent years, Blackpool has been attracting attention for all the wrong reasons.
The town now has the highest rate of deaths related to drug misuse in England and Wales.
It’s a battle the people here have been fighting for a number of years.
Blackpool topped the list between 2017 and 2019 with 18.9 deaths per 100,000 people, now that rate is 18 percent higher at 22.1 deaths.
But do the people of Blackpool believe these grim statistics paint a fair picture of their town?
