As a 12+ yrs experienced IT guy I do not accept all the points mentioned here. All the issues mentioned here are for only minority people and not for majority. Health - Its a personal choice. Not just IT. Any work like bank, government job which requires you to sit infront of computer has to take care of health. Stress - It is only for people who doesn't have skill to accomplish their work in stipulated time. As the technology changes rapidly we should also keep ourself updated Job insecurity - IT is bigger than TCS, Infosys etc. Only in these service based companies your job ends at age 30s. But in product based your job starts at 30+

I have 16+ years of experience in IT. I have health issues starting from age of around 35+. Though I have done descent investment in my career, I would say IT is not for who wants peaceful life at home. But you cannot earn as much money quickly in another employment in private. I already have back issues and nerve compression. IT and pressure is always synonymous. My advice would be save as much as you could early in the first 10 years and quit it for better mental peace. I Continued to learn throughout my career. I would say rather than management being Individual contributor would extend your career, In case if you want to stay in IT. i am not with what A2D says.

If they really care they can go to gym 2)9-10 hrs SCREEN munnadiye irukanumnu avasiyam illa doctor ku, less screentime-healthy eye, brain etc 3)Becoming old it's hard for an IT employee to get job, but doctors have heavy demand... 4)A doctor speaks to a plenty of people everyday which is less stressful unlike IT employees.. 5)As a doctor he updates himself technologically,lesser than IT employees,as they have TECHNICIANS working in the hospital for accuracy... 6)After a couple of years a DOCTOR can open his own clinic, but for IT engineers STARTUPs and UNICORNs are a little difficult... Naa (DOCTOR>ENGINEER) nu sollala brh, each sector has its own advantages.... Like IT engineer will start to earn at age 22(even it's high or low)... But a medical student will get his first salary at 24/25 then PG for even more good money
