I mean yeah, I agree with you that when you get used to dodging attacks hiding behind a great shield or just medium heater shield it feels way easier. Elden ring and ds3 were definitely hostile to shields though, you either used a great shield or didn't use them period.

Yeah man medium shields in ds3 were basically pointless unless you used grass crest on your back, the bosses would rip through your stam so quick

If you ever did get around to finishing Code Vein I would love to see you do a boss ranking. It wasn't my favorite souls-like but I enjoyed what it had to offer.

Skeleton Lords goes the hardest, which is funny for the same reason. Outside of non-AC6 armored core games, DS2 probably has the most memorable music in a From game. Motoi Sakuraba actually liking to use less generic melodies and rhythm is probably why.

I recently did my first DS2 run in a long while and after having played copious amounts of Elden Ring with some Lies of P mixed in, DS2 felt soooooo easy. I still love it

I’m not gonna lie. I had no idea about adaptability when I first played this game. So I did an entire play through without leveling that stat up at all because I didn’t know what it was so I thought it was a waste of souls. Lol

I just replayed DS2 and quit halfway through. It is unplayable after playing Elden Ring and DS3 multiple times. The bosses are awful, many of the areas are just dark, neverending ganks.
