You know, for all these years, I thought that making a ranged build involved using strategy revolving around making a sorcery build that utilized all four magic categories, hella attunement, using the binoculars to auto aim, having a side arm crossbow or bow with plenty of arrows to spare, learn the trick throwing of items, remembering every enemy weakness so you use the right spells, fucking get an addiction to Twilight herbs!!! Use the rapier as a crutch until you can actually use the Spells you’ve been training for, And have good catalysts for spell casting. Now I realize, I’m doing this all fucking wrong...

Ds3 is great. It has the best level design of all three games (level design =/= world design) and while its bonfire placement is shit and its hitboxes are a bit weird, its still a really good game with quite a lot to appreciate. It has some of the best music in the series, some of the best cathedrals in the series, some of the best fashion souls and since equip load is mostly bs, you can wear heavy armor and light armor and not have it affect your mobility. Plus it has some of the most memorable bosses in the entire series (nameless king, dancer, pontiff, aldritch, soul of cinder, frieda etc) which more than make up for the few shit bosses it has.

@@atijohn8135 my first literal point was that world design and level design are not the same thing. You stating it has more swamps is thus pointless. Because as individual areas, they are some of the better swamps in the series. Yes, a lot of enemies get repeated. So? Their combinations can still make the game fun and challenging. I do agree that there are certainly more ambushes but they rarely do more damage than you can handle. And if you're dying from the ambushes, considering upgrading your vigor. I know ds2 is a good game. I have nothing against it. I really really like it. Even more than ds1 at some points. And not being dragged down by equip load lets you freely experiment and stay lighter and move quickly (as is expected by bosses and enemies). It's a carry over from bloodborne that I especially like. The removal of poise (I know it isn't removed and it just works differently) was a deliberate choice. You aren't supposed to tank hits. Thus the fact that equip load is basically bs so that you keep moving and don't tank hits. And if you think the locations in ds3 are boring, I don't even know what to tell you. Are they as varied as other games in the series? Definitely not. Does that make them boring or worse somehow? FUCK NO. And ds3 does have the best level design in the series. Again, world design and level design isn't the same thing. Individual levels in ds3 are better than individual levels in the other spuls games for the most part. So, I don't even know what the point of your comment is.

The two wolves on the Great bridge, the entire forbidden woods, the entire hunters nightmare, the entire run up to amelia, the entire run up to the shadow of yharnam and there's many many more. Just because bloodborne was better at masking it doesn't mean it didn't exist. And why are you bringing up points I don't even have in my argument? I literally didn't even mention des. And if you wanted it easy, you chose the wrong fucking franchise. Dark souls 3 has more tougher enemies, sure. They're faster too. Even do high damage. Here's a fucking tip: don't fight them. Yeah, crazy, I know. Run past them. DON'T TRY TO MAKE UP FAULTS THAT DON'T EXIST SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE SOMETHING. The franchise is built around tough but fair. Yeah, if you want to talk about how ds3 has the second worst hitboxes in the series (after ds2 ofc), sure. That's a legitimate problem. But don't make up flaws like that. In fact, dark souls 3 is considered to be the easiest of the series. Ans not every area has to introduce something new. Ds3 is literally taking place in the same location as ds1. Obviously its not going to introduce much new in terms of scenery because its THE SAME FUCKING PLACE. Ds3 requires different gameplay styles than ds2 and ds1. Don't say you hate enemies because they're the same. Also, just because you don't like swamps doesn't mean no one likes swamps. I like swamps. Blighttown is one of my favourite locations in the series to date. Because they can build so much tension by just slowing the movement. Everything has to be meticulously planned and thought through and not just rushed through like in other areas because if you fuck up, you can't run away. That's exactly why there's swamps and ds3 does them the best. With even more tension and deliberation in each action.

Funnily enough, an offense-shield build is not only viable, but OP-asf and has been in DkS2 for quite some time. Grab the Sanctum Shield, 2-hand it, then hit things. Slap on Great Magic Shield and you beat everything.
