What it truly means to be hollow, trying to rediscover who you are and why your even on this quest, not giving up when it seems impossible to go on. None of the souls games are "that good" imo. I've played all of them multiple times each, and I've come to belive that they aren't really worth all the praise and acclaim. They aren't bad, but there are plenty of other action rpgs that do stuff better. The main thing that pulled everyone's eyes to souls was the supposed "difficulty" and people's desire to prove themselves on it.

That got people's attention, therefore exposing it to mainstream, therefore getting played by people who only play mainstream games and who don't really play rpgs. It's like how everyone was praising skyrim even though it wasn't really anything special as an rpg. It's just that it was the first mainstream elderscrolls, so it was revolutionary to all those people who only play CoD and Madden.
