Guys if you used your giant souls Kill him with weapon infused with bleeding I used richards rapier +10 infused with bleed and the bleed effect did 200 damage took around 10-15min to kill him though (didn't have any souls of giants) so don't worry if you used them like I did :)

Damn it! I'm really struggling with this. I already got 4 giant souls, The movement pattern is easy, but I kept on dying because of Vendrick's HP pool and the small boss chamber. I kept on getting cornered near wall and then die unable to properly dodge his sweeping attacks.

Soloing as melee gives you the opportunity to learn all boss encounters and every mechanic they have, or you can go the ultra easy mode route and summon an npc or player, not learn anything, and just pew pew soul spears from the far side of the room.

I beat this boss with only 3 Giant Souls in my inventory. He took very little damage this way and one attack from him took 80% of my HP (didn't one shot me though) and break my guard with full stamina. I managed to beat him by just rolling through his attacks and hitting him twice with an Ancient Curved Dragon Greatsword +5 infused with lighting. But ONLY attack him twice if you have full stamina.

Vendrick is a corpse with no armor and barely enough strength to wield his sword. Will of Steel or "left over power," he still should pose no threat

its 2020 and I beat him on a tiny TV using a raw greatsword +10 and half of havel's amour. Strat: Buff sword with crystal weapon or lightning blade. 393-426 per light attack hit 460-506 per heavy attack Without buff - 293-306 Hit him with R1 or RB two handed then continue walking towards left or right. Never walk to much towards a direction because he can switch his own turning direction quickly. If you're not confident with some of his swings, create some distance but immediately focus on his next attack when you get near Vendrick again. Be warery of thia vertical attacks, they follow he slashes downwards so if you're strafing in front of him..time the roll, block and get staggeres, or get bodied by his Muscular Sword💀 However, If you're behind vendrick during the attack, that givea you a chance to hit him once or twice depending on ur stamina and recovery.(or you can heal or get a quick buff in, remember stamina is key in his situation Side swings- If you're behind during the swings, continue going the direction the sword is going. If ur're feelng unconfident, roll under but be prepared to dodge his combo😂 Try the strat on how you feel is best and good luck Strength and Dex build ftw👊💪

There's an easier way than that to do it; if you stay right behind his left leg, you don't have to dodge! You can stay out of range of his attacks by hugging the left butt cheek and only attack after his attack.

In my experience it's best to roll into his attacks. The reason he gets missed when he rolls to Vendriks Left is because it is safe there. Hugging his left heel and moving so you are always on the middle of that left Heel makes the fight so easy. If you manage to get caught with his back to the wall. Roll *INTO* his swings. Timing is key but by rolling into them you'll not have to worry about rolling too early then getting clipped by the end of his cleave animation. Ranged attacks are not a good strat due to his Red Orb of Death attack and his fast jump slams.

For as easy as this fight is supposed to be, I keep getting one shot, mostly because I have to use some distance in order to keep him away from the walls, which if he gets close to them, circling becomes impossible. And it's when I have to put that distance in there that I get flattened.

if anyones still having trouble you need GIANT souls, they reduce his defense. you get these souls from those weird looking trees you come across that have "examine" you need to have the ashen mist heart to interact with the trees. you get it from the ancient dragon (ancient dragon is inside the castle with all the dragons flying above) the trees teleport you into a dream world and there is a soul in each one, you pick it up at the end of the dream from a dead giant, id recommend having 4 or 5 of these souls before attempting vendrick To engange vendrick just keep attacking him till hes hostile

I know this is late but for future: Ancient dragon is actually very easy Start of the fight try running directly under him, when doing so sprint to the right a little bit. Attack his back right foot 2-4 times if melee, or if caster just stay underhim. Dodge his foot stomp Next, if he stands up on his legs jog to the right side of his right foot, can't be hit. When he flies into the air, run directly where his tail is. 99/100 you won't get hit

Easiest way to farm Giant Souls = bonfire ascetic at dragon shrine and fight the ancient dragon again. That way you don't run the risk of the giant in black gulch not dropping your giant souls thanks to a glitch like it happened to me.

You must be a pro if you are able to fight the ancient dragon again and again by bonfire ascetics. It is a pretty fun bossfight thow, the problem for me is the long way to get there, but you get a lot of souls when you kill him, so it's totally worth it.

Thank you, really. I used a bonfire ascetic, to kill the guardian once again, but forgot to deal with Vendrick first. So I had to deal with him on NG+ for the first time. Circle to Vendrick's right. Stay by his right leg the entire fight. His attacks have a bit of tracking but as long as you start moving after the end of his attacking animation you won't even need to roll.

I found him easy on my first playthrough (I beat him after finishing I think everything in the game in 55 hours....including the time it took to grab his shit, go to the Memory and then farm some Loyce souls.) His hits only removed 2/5-1/3 of my Health (not sure why, all of the guides talked of him 1 hitting you.) although I only got hit twice. If you hug his left leg I believe he can't hit you (or whichever leg the sword isn't next to.)...he's surprisingly easy. I was dealing 290-300+ damage to him with each swing with the Drakeblood Greatsword (my character is a DEX build mainly.) I found him significantly easier than the person who was guarding him. I find the majority of the bosses in this game rather easier....except those in the Old Iron King DLC, holy shit!

+7dayspking I heard about the left leg trick before fighting him and killed him in one try. Kind of sad how easy it is once you know what to do. Just takes patience also depending what weapon you have. Went with an UGS build and had a 100 resistance shield. Not sure if the shield does anything to lower the damage but when I got hit by him, I lost probably close to half my health or a little bit more.

ive put like 90 + hours into Dark Souls and i absolutly love it. Ive put about 70 hours into DSII and..eh its pretty alright. it doesnt hold a candle to the first. My biggest issue with DS to is that it all around feels like an older version of the first, like a prequal.....down scaled even. Hope DS III is netter than 2 and more like the first.

Vendrick doesn't only jump when you first arrive like this video suggests, he will also rush and slash or cast a curse. In fact, he's far more likely to rush than jump. His attacks aren't slow, they are fast, but there are pauses in between. He is harder for melee because melee animations take longer than casting animations, leaving you vulnerable longer. You will have to roll to the left as much as to the right. He is vulnerable to lightning. He's easy with a controller, but harder with PC controls (keyboard + mouse are awful).

carlos faurby Thanks, you have to be careful with every word on the internet, because many see every comment as an invitation to fight. You should be able to get top casting speed with items or respecing your stats for the fight, but fast casting speed doesn't help if you run out of stamina, so you need to get that up and its recovery time as well. other helpful tips for vendrick are to use a brightbug to double your damage and to simply use havel shield 2 handed and use the shield bash to kill him, but make sure you have enough stamina to absorb at least 2 of his attacks. No rolling required, so if you are like me and hate rolling, this is a valid option.

First time I beat Vendrick was with a Bleed Scimitar +10. Damage spikes for 200 every 10 seconds or so (after a long bleed buildup). All that because I didn't know what giant souls did and consumed them (then farmed like 3 in the black gulch via ascetics).

I didn't even know about the giant souls and I didn't fight him on new game. I just got done finishing him up on N+. Took me about 34 minutes to beat him lol and like 3 hours trying. This is how I do this in my melee build bit what always happens is that I get him down and he has only like 25 percent health left which I consider close to finishing but I always get stuck on his legs every time then he just one hits me with his sword

It took like 20 tries to beat him on new game +++ I was in shock when I killed him lol

I think my game glitched? i beat velstadt but there wasnt another fog door after that, just the king standing there and i went and grabber the ring, but it would let me kill him? someone please help?

+Noah Kirkland hit him, you have to hit him at least 5 times consecutive, then he will be hostile, and if he kills you, there will be the fog you dont see, he is passive at first
