when it comes to grab attacks in DS2, their hit detection actually works differently from DS1 and DS3, as the game actually waits for the grab animation to finish before following up with the attack. Also if you're playing online, depending on other players who you can queue with, there is a chance that the summons from Looking Glass Knight are other players.

One thing I love about this game is it really encapsulates a cozy, "The real dark soul is the friends we made along the way" kind of feeling, it's literally just a vibe that permeates the air. The NPCs will literally give you free items just for being their friend, Maughlin in particular has the most wholesome interaction in the entire series if you come to him broke after spending a bunch of money, and there are certain NPCs that you can summon several times after befriending them, I felt like I formed a tight knit squad with Benhart, Vengral and Manhunter O'Harrah. Even on the community side people do things like troll new players by seppukuing themselves in front of the entrance to Majula

Going through DS3 now for the video and I have to agree the cozy feel you describe is right on the money! DS1 and DS3 have this end of the world vibe and is incredibly dark and gloomy a complete opposite to how I felt exploring DS2

@@Guyinthetie If you run a build that uses Any weapon buff spell and a Rapier you can steamroll the game. I did a dark rapier build with 30/30 int/faith and it broke the game.

This game is so nostalgic to me. The replayablity feels endless. So many beautiful & scary places to explore, cool enemies to fight, weapons/armour to collect. Ds1 was the first one i played, but I always go back to Ds2. It's just such an epic journey

in the black gulch you can set the pools on fire with fire arrows and kill the hand grappy mobs, and the statues can be destroyed with your fists. it is a pretty easy area :P

I would describe DS 2 as a game where you aren't the chosen anything. You are just a simple UN-dead trying to undo a curse put upon you. You as a simple man cursed with UN-dead who chose to charge a castle/land of enemies alone. Of course you are going to get mobbed, but that's the point. You are a pebble fighting against the tide of a huge river. This makes DS 2 the best in my opinion. DS 1 is you are the prophociesed hero(Game is subjugated to cheese), DS-3 is more 'video gamey' in design(Bonfires be plentiful), while DS 2 is a crusade in an unknown land.

I never really leveled Adaptability most of the time. Didn't really change anything for me after I leveled it. The game's dodges and whatnot were still incredibly easy to do. Still my favorite of the 3

Tbh, in my recent attempts at playing the game, I tended to favor just rolling out of the way over banking on I-frames to save me. If you're light enough, your rolls can cover a surprising amount of distance.

Dark Souls 2 gets a bad rap. It's a great game. I've experienced bad hit boxes almost as frequently in DS3. Curse Rotted Great wood grabbed me when I was behind it a couple times. Got hit when I was about 4ft away from the bosses weapon. Etc. I love Dark Souls 2 almost entirely. It has some seriously aggravating parts that are a slog to get through. But most of the game is just fun to play. Adapt to the game, use spells or bow/crossbow for the large enemy groups to pick them off, etc.

And DS2 has the much better armor sets compared to DS1 and DS3. DS3 only had a couple cool armor sets, some of them just needed a cape to look cool but most of them just aren't that cool. DS2 has some bad ass armor sets. I wish they would have put some of them in DS3.

And yess, DS3 has some shitty parts like Farron Woods, Catacombs of Carthus, Smouldering Lake is complete ass, and a few others. @xXLunatikxXlul yeah every issue people complain about in DS2, I've experienced in DS3. Some areas of DS2 are annoying but some of the areas are great and a lot of fun. DS3 has better bosses for sure. People act like it's perfect but it has issues. The Curse Rotted great wood grabbed me when I was standing behind it. Been hit with swords when I was about 4 to 6 feet away. 😂 They're all amazing games.

DS2 reminds me most of Demon Souls cause the levels environments are more challenging than the bosses. people don't seem to understand places like the Iron Keep and Shrine of Amana you are supposed to use the bow, the only Dark Souls that really forces you to consider using it. combat is a bit clunky for melee cause if you are out of stamina, you are dead in the water. some of the best DLC, armor designs, and character models are in this game & it will always have a special place in my heart!

I think I found is that the gang fight can you do significantly if you carefully and methodically go through each area but some fights are completely unavoidable. I haven't played the other souls tiles I only have dark souls 2 but I don't see half the issues people bring up when I play it maybe it's because I just gotten used to the game

@@Guyinthetie some of the choices make sense like vitality being equipment load it makes you think about what type of weapon you want to go for do you want a heavy weapon that requires a good investment in vitality or a light weapon do you want heavy armor so you take less damage or light armor so you roll easy. The adaptability Stat it's a little bit too much hate my first playthrough I barely leveled it and I got through fine using a block build block then attack style of game plays what I was using. Ask for the over farming of enemies that's put in there if you are having a difficult time getting through areas you can over hunt the enemies making a heck of a lot easier. I've beaten the game 7 to 9 on a fresh character 4 times on New game Plus I personally love the fact you can't just run back to the boss you have to fight you away from the enemies again which makes sense the dark souls 2 always get flack for being dark souls 2 I have a new game mechanics are very good despite what people say

To be fair, if you don't skip the mobs in the coop dlc areas, it's gonna take alot of time. Especially horsefuck valley, definitely faster to just run to the end tho

True. Lots of run backs can be done within 2-5 minutes which is not a big deal. Enemies can also be lured using Yearn or Alluring skulls, so ganks shouldn’t be an issue.
