My all time favorite thing about this boss is the movement, even though it's clearly a human body it's all crouched and flexible like an animal that's had it's spine taken out of it. It's genuinely creepy and beautiful to look at at the same time and that's quite an accomplishment.

The best part of the fight with the Dancer is how it is literally a dance. She has an enormous variety of attacks and she can follow up a hit with any other. So the only way to actually properly fight her is intuition, let your instinct move your body, just like in a dance.
@typingreallyfast2 жыл бұрын
Yep. I was told to focus on the music, and her swordplay and footwork should be much clearer and easier to predict. I cranked up the music and beat her 2nd try. Beautiful fight, honestly wish it lasted longer or I can repeat the fight without having to go NG+
@richardtv98592 жыл бұрын
Very true, this is the kind of boss im good with, im always dodging in every attack and she just keep it coming so she is like dancing every time, and i always able to avoid it, maybe i just have a good intuition when it comes to predictable combo attacks, unlike pontiff which i cant read most of his movements bec. its random while this she keep barraging the same attack everytime, but she is my most favorite dark souls boss then next is abyss watcher
@xijinping10995 жыл бұрын
You can actually count the beat while she’s attacking. It’s kind of hard to track, because it slowly gets faster and faster, but all her attacks are on beat. You can hear/see it better on her spin move.
@typingreallyfast2 жыл бұрын
True. There was another video that analyzed her moves and compared it with music time. That video sold me this game. When I got to fighting her, I cranked the music up and beat her second try. It was bittersweet. I loved fighting her but now that I beat her I have to get to NG+ to fight her again. Personally one of the best video game bosses of all time. Difficult but fair, and everything about the fight was beautiful.
@Okta8085 жыл бұрын
I found the ever changing tempo of her attacks the best part of this fight. Also the eerie movement accompanied by the slow moving veil of hers really added to the atmosphere. Many say Gael, but I have to say Dancer was my favorite.
@andrewmuir79382 жыл бұрын
After playing through Elden Ring, I have so much more respect for the boss design in Dark Souls 3. Things like delayed attacks, when Dancer pulls back her sword(s), it actually flows through the animation, and fits perfectly into the unique fighting style the Dancer uses. Where in Elden Ring, just about every boss simply raises their sword anywhere from 2-5 seconds before unleashing the pain. Gameplay wise, both get the job done I suppose, but visually and stylistically, Dark Souls 3 was wayyyyyyy ahead on this.
@TheMinhthe2 жыл бұрын

That Weird Guy It is different for each person. It is actually possible to fight The Dancer as the second boss when she should be 3/4 of the way through the game. Also there are different character builds. You could be a tank, assassin, mage, ect... If you want to think in those more standard RPG terms. Different bosses are varying difficulty level for various builds. First play through I beat the Dancer on KY 5th try using a tank character, and fighting her late game.

I dunno, perhaps I was overprepared for this fight, because I heard how difficult it was but I steamrolled over her on soul level ~80. She hits like a truck and her attacks cover large areas, but she also telegraphs them massively and performs them at rather steady pace, making them reasonably easy to avoid. The key for defeating her is in treating this like a dance, follow her movement, and react to it. Stay at her butt if you can.

Curious, what's your PC got to run the game in 4K@60fps?

the level of such this player exudes and the amount the ratings give that crutch is amazing to me

Damn this fight has to be the hardest one in the game, you have to fight with one hand

Level up. Check. Estus replenished. Check. Weapon reinforced. Check. "Try finger but hole" message left at bonfire. Check. Time to fight the dancer!

That bro got saved by his random messages rated by players like 3 times in this fight alone.

This boss almost made me want to give up on my SL1. This boss easily took me at least 5 hours to beat. Now I can easily beat her early game.

In my opinion. This was the best boss of the game. Sound Style and Setting were absolutely top

The music and the footsteps sound so elegant and graceful. That’s why she’s the dancer

I love how it seems like's she's underwater, especially given her intro, where she almost 'drips' down to the floor. The veil behind her floats and everything is muted, like hearing sounds when you're deep underwater in a pool or something,

I love when a Dark Soul boss fight has some suspenseful tragic or different music- than the usual epic bombastic choir stuff

I'm so confused, does everyone pour into health? I always pour into whatever attack stat I'm going for for whatever build I'm on. But I almost always have my vigor around 15 or so while I level up my other stats

One of the most infuriatingly difficult yet enchantingly beautiful bosses to ever grace the videogame medium. The Dancer is hands down the pinnacle of game design for FromSoft in the DS series.

At first I struggled a lot and died almost 100x but when I attuned the soul stream and acquired court sorcerer staff. This boss is like a cotton candy.
